Head Chef - Luxury Residential Wellness Program (Confidential)

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
Employment Type: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8am-5pm

About the Opportunity

We are searching for a Head Chef to lead the culinary operations of a private, luxury residential wellness program located in North Scottsdale.

This is not a restaurant position.

Our residents are individuals receiving residential mental health and wellness treatment in a highly personalized, hospitality-driven environment. Food is an essential part of the healing experience. Every meal communicates care, dignity, comfort, and attention to detail.

We're looking for a culinary professional who is passionate about creating exceptional food while taking complete ownership of a well-run kitchen. This is an opportunity to slow down from the pace of traditional restaurant service and focus on quality, consistency, and hospitality in a meaningful setting.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you will independently oversee all weekday culinary operations for 10 residential guests. You'll manage every aspect of the kitchen; from menu planning and grocery purchasing to meal preparation, food safety, inventory management, health department compliance, as well as coordination with our nutritionist.

Success in this role means consistently delivering restaurant-quality meals while maintaining an organized, inspection-ready kitchen and creating a welcoming dining experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare fresh, nutritious, restaurant-quality meals Monday through Friday
Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner with exceptional presentation and consistency
Develop rotating menus that balance nutrition, quality, and variety
Accommodate allergies, dietary restrictions, and medically prescribed meal modifications
Complete grocery shopping, food ordering, inventory management, and budget oversight
Maintain exceptionally clean kitchens, refrigerators, freezers, and food storage areas
Monitor product freshness, quality, and expiration dates
Minimize food waste through thoughtful planning and inventory management
Communicate supply needs, equipment issues, and operational concerns proactively
Leave the kitchen clean, organized, and fully prepared at the end of each day

Qualifications

3+ years of professional culinary experience
Experience in hospitality, private clubs, luxury resorts, healthcare, senior living, private estates, or residential treatment settings is highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to independently manage all aspects of kitchen operations
Experience with menu development, food purchasing, inventory management, and budgeting
Strong knowledge of nutrition and accommodating food allergies and dietary restrictions
Current Food Protection Manager Certification (ServSafe Manager or equivalent) required
Thorough understanding of food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, and health department standards
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal communication skills
Reliable, self-directed, and committed to maintaining high standards every day

Schedule

Full-time (40 hours per week)
Monday through Friday
Morning start required
Roughly 8am-5pm
No routine weekend shifts
Weekend meals are prepared in advance on Fridays
