Full Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a direct impact in the lives of elementary students by supporting their emotional well-being within a welcoming school environment located near Scranton, PA. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity extends through June 2026, providing a unique chance to work closely with grades K-4 in an emotional support setting. Engage with students, collaborate with educators, and foster a safe, supportive learning atmosphere as a skilled School Social Worker.

Desired Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program
Active state licensure for School Social Work
Previous experience working with elementary or K-4 students, particularly in emotional support roles
Strong understanding of school-based support systems and multi-disciplinary collaboration
Excellent communication, case management, and crisis intervention skills
Ability to adapt services to serve diverse student populations

Core Responsibilities:

Provide therapeutic support and interventions for students in grades K-4 needing emotional support services
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions tailored to student needs
Coordinate with teachers, parents, and educational team members to create comprehensive support plans
Facilitate prevention and response strategies for social, emotional, or behavioral concerns
Engage families in collaborative efforts to maximize positive student outcomes
Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in line with school policies and state regulations
