Full Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Administrative Director to lead the administrative, financial, and operational development of a new hyperbaric, wound care, and outpatient medical center in Brooklyn.

The center will include two multiplace hyperbaric chambers, wound care services, minor procedure rooms, and part-time specialists involved in wound care and outpatient services.

This is a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for building, operating, and growing the center. The Administrative Director will work closely with the owners, designated owner representatives, the Medical Director, physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical and administrative staff.

The Administrative Director will be responsible for overseeing the center’s administrative, financial, and operational functions and accountable for their performance, whether the work is carried out directly, by internal staff, or through outside vendors and service providers.

The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, accountable, and confident in both overseeing major functions and working directly with staff to solve problems, implement systems, and carry plans through execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the center’s opening readiness and ongoing day-to-day administrative, financial, and operational management.
Build and grow the staffing, systems, workflows, and infrastructure required to operate the center effectively.
Develop and oversee policies, procedures, reporting systems, performance standards, and operating processes.
Recruit, hire, onboard, supervise, and develop administrative and clinical support staff in coordination with clinical leadership.
Establish clear responsibilities, communication processes, performance expectations, and accountability throughout the center.
Oversee patient access, scheduling, registration, insurance verification, prior authorization, referral coordination, and related administrative workflows.
Oversee revenue-cycle management, including billing, collections, denials, accounts receivable, reimbursement performance, and revenue reporting.
Lead or oversee insurance payer contract negotiations and the coordination of provider credentialing, payer enrollment, and related payer processes.
Manage budgeting, financial planning, expenses, cost controls, financial reporting, cash-flow monitoring, and overall operational performance.
Oversee the selection, negotiation, management, and evaluation of vendors, suppliers, technology providers, consultants, billing companies, and other outside service providers.
Oversee equipment coordination, supplies, maintenance relationships, EMR implementation, administrative technology, and related operational support.
Work closely with the owners and designated owner representatives to implement organizational priorities, provide regular operational and financial reporting, identify issues, and carry approved plans through execution.
Work with the Medical Director, physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical staff to support compliance, quality, patient safety, patient experience, and efficient clinical operations.
Develop and maintain referral relationships with physicians, medical practices, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare referral sources.
Build patient volume and grow the center’s hyperbaric, wound care, procedural, and outpatient services.
Establish and monitor operational, financial, revenue-cycle, referral, staffing, and patient-service performance measures.
Hold staff, vendors, and service providers accountable for performance, timeliness, accuracy, and follow-through.
Identify operational and financial problems, implement solutions, and ensure that corrective actions are completed.
Support the development and expansion of additional services as the center grows.

QUALIFICATIONS

Substantial healthcare operations or administration experience in an outpatient medical center, physician practice, procedural setting, specialty practice, or similar healthcare organization.
Demonstrated experience managing day-to-day healthcare operations and working directly with physicians, clinical staff, administrative teams, and outside service providers.
Experience opening, building, growing, improving, or turning around a healthcare operation.
Experience recruiting, supervising, developing, and holding healthcare staff accountable.
Experience with budgeting, financial management, cost control, financial reporting, and operational performance.
Strong knowledge of revenue-cycle management, billing, collections, denials, accounts receivable, prior authorization, reimbursement, and payer operations.
Experience negotiating insurance payer contracts is strongly preferred.
Experience overseeing provider credentialing and payer enrollment is preferred.
Experience overseeing the selection, negotiation, management, and evaluation of healthcare vendors and outside service providers is preferred.
Experience developing referral relationships with physicians, medical practices, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, judgment, problem-solving, and follow-through.
Ability to oversee major functions while remaining directly involved in daily operations and staff performance.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a new and growing healthcare organization.
Hyperbaric or wound care experience is helpful but not required.

COMPENSATION

$150,000 to $180,000 per year. May be eligible for additional performance-based compensation.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
