Company Description: Haeger Orthodontics is a fast-growing, premier, multilocation orthodontics practice, well known for providing exceptional orthodontic care and a premium patient experience. Founded in 1990 and led by Dr. Robert Haeger, the office has established itself as the leading ortho provider for the Kent and Maple Valley regions through a laser focus on individualized care and elite outcomes, achieved as fast as possible and looking exactly as patients dream of. Now a team of over 15 people, Haeger Orthodontics is continuing to grow through an especially analytical approach and a technological push to modernize oral care.
Role Description: The Practice Manager (PM) will manage a wide variety of operations projects and oversee daily office activities, spanning performance analytics, marketing, finance, patient care, and hiring. The PM will also be involved in managing the staff. This is not a standard role, either within or outside the oral care industry. Accordingly, prior experience in any form of dentistry is not expected or necessary. Instead, you could have anything from an engineering to a business to a writing background. What’s more important is that you have experience managing people, can demonstrate that you’ve previously managed projects from initiation to completion, and are extremely organized. The PM will be an extension of Dr. Haeger, effectively parts chief of staff, operations director, office manager, project manager, and people leader.
A note from Dr. Haeger… “How many jobs out there are dedicated to helping people smile? Puns aside, giving people confidence in their smiles is an amazing feeling and the reason why I love what I do. Having straight teeth carries benefits well beyond comfort and health – it also delivers confidence and presence. What we do literally transforms people and their lives.”

This role is right for you if you are…
- … looking for a role that you would ideally stay in for 5+ years. There is no upward mobility in this role as the only position above you will be the doctor.
- … seeking steadiness and predictability. You won’t work more than 40 hours a week or on a weekend, but it’s a busy 40 hours and starts earlier in the morning than most jobs that pay $100k+.

- … comfortable not working close to Seattle’s urban center. Our office is not an easy commute from the heart of downtown Seattle or further north.
- … a problem-solver. Identifying an issue, fixing it, and crossing it off your to do list excites you. When you see something that could work better, looks wrong, or isn’t up to the office’s standards, you ask questions, figure out “the why,” and solve the problem without being told to.
- … Type-A and love structure. You can’t exist without organization. The breadth of this role is broad; you’ll have at least several things to focus on and switch between during any given day, making structure and organization the easiest path to success.
- … willing to take on projects that might be “beneath you.” You’ll work on a variety of interesting and complex projects, but occasionally there are less glamorous tasks too.
- … a self-starter. You won’t have someone looking over your shoulder or holding you accountable on a day-to-day basis. Instead, it’s up to you to deliver on each of your responsibilities as expected and planned.
- Understand and implement the traits of an Impact Player: Do the job that is needed; Step up, step back; Take projects over the finish line; Ask and adjust; Make work light by managing up
This role is not right for you if…
- … you expect to do the same thing every day.
- … you prefer to just go through the motions.
- … the idea of managing people makes you shudder.
- … you’re allergic to Excel spreadsheets.
- … starting the workday at 6:30 a.m. is a problem.
- … you do not like interacting with patients.
- … you are not good at holding people accountable.
