SafeRoute Home Services LLC is a local general contracting company looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Field Renovation Project Manager to help manage active repair, unit turn, handyman, and renovation projects in the field.
This role is being added to support growing project volume and help keep estimates, active jobs, field communication, and project closeouts moving efficiently.
This is not a manufacturing, engineering, IT, or office-only project management position. This is a field-based role that requires job site travel, client communication, estimating, scheduling, team coordination, quality control, and project follow-up.
This is also not a full-time labor position, but it does require strong hands-on construction knowledge. The Project Manager should understand how residential repairs, unit turns, flooring, painting, drywall, handyman work, cleaning scopes, and small remodels are completed.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Measurements
- Prepare estimates for residential and light commercial scopes, including flooring, painting, drywall, handyman repairs, cleaning, unit turns, and general construction
- Take field measurements for flooring, paint, repair, renovation, and unit-turn scopes
- Review photos, measurements, notes, and site conditions to prepare accurate bids
- Create, update, and revise estimates using MotionOps or other company software
- Identify labor, material, vendor, employee, and subcontractor needs for each project
- Communicate scope changes, added work, and unexpected site conditions before work continues
Scheduling & Field Coordination
- Coordinate employees, handymen, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members based on project scope and availability
- Help assign and communicate daily priorities to field technicians as directed by management
- Manage multiple active jobs at the same time
- Help resolve delays, scheduling conflicts, missing materials, or staffing needs
- Coordinate material needs, vendor pickups, and supply issues when approved and needed
- Help keep projects moving from estimate approval through completion
Field Oversight & Quality Control
- Travel between job sites, estimate appointments, vendors, and active projects as needed
- Meet clients, employees, subcontractors, vendors, and field technicians on site
- Review scope, expectations, timelines, and deadlines
- Perform site visits to check progress, quality, job readiness, and completion status
- Take before, progress, and after photos
- Identify incomplete work, quality concerns, or last-minute corrections before closing out a project
- Coordinate the appropriate handyman, employee, subcontractor, or vendor to complete corrections when needed
Budget, Timeline & Closeout
- Track labor, materials, subcontractor costs, vendor costs, and job progress
- Help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
- Look for cost-saving solutions without lowering quality
- Communicate delays, added work, material needs, and approval needs promptly
- Complete punch-list checks and final walkthroughs
- Confirm photos, notes, completion details, and client updates are documented before the project is closed
- Help ensure client satisfaction before final closeout
Client, Team & Vendor Communication
- Serve as a point of contact for clients during estimates and active projects
- Communicate clearly with homeowners, tenants, property managers, real estate partners, employees, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members
- Monitor field performance, reliability, communication, and quality
- Identify additional repair needs, added work, or improvement opportunities when appropriate
- Communicate potential add-ons or scope changes to management before pricing or approval
- Represent the company professionally on job sites
Required Qualifications
- Experience in residential construction, renovation, maintenance, unit turns, or related field work
- Hands-on understanding of scopes such as flooring, painting, drywall, handyman repairs, cleaning, unit turns, or small remodels
- Experience preparing estimates, bids, or project scopes
- Ability to take measurements and review field conditions for estimating purposes
- Ability to manage multiple active projects and job sites
- Strong scheduling, organization, and communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with clients, employees, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required for daily job site travel
- Company vehicle is not provided at this time
- Smartphone required for photos, updates, scheduling, and communication
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a construction project manager, estimator, superintendent, foreman, lead technician, maintenance supervisor, or renovation coordinator
- Experience managing employees, handymen, subcontractors, vendors, or field crews
- Experience with tenant turns, property management repairs, insurance repairs, remodels, or punch-list work
- Familiarity with MotionOps, project management software, estimating software, or similar systems
- EPA Lead Certification, or willingness to obtain
- Hands-on trade experience in addition to project management experience
Transportation & Travel
- This role requires regular travel between job sites, estimate appointments, vendors, warehouses, and active projects
- Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license are required
- Company vehicle is not provided at this time
- Gas reimbursement is provided for approved job site travel
- The exact reimbursement structure may vary depending on project location, distance, and job requirements, and will be discussed during the hiring process
Training Period
This position includes a 1-month training period to become familiar with our systems, processes, pricing, vendors, employees, subcontractors, and active projects.
During the training period, pay will be $25/hour. After successfully completing the training period, pay will increase to the full starting rate of $35/hour or up to $40/hr dependent on experience and performance during training period.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has a strong mix of field knowledge, estimating ability, organization, and communication skills. This person should understand how work is completed in the field and be able to manage projects without relying only on theory or office-based project management experience.
We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, stays organized, follows up consistently, and is honest about what they know and what needs clarification. The right person should be comfortable managing clients, employees, subcontractors, vendors, materials, budgets, timelines, documentation, and jobsite quality.
This role is a good fit for someone who has worked as a project manager, estimator, foreman, superintendent, lead technician, renovation coordinator, or experienced field technician ready to move into more project coordination and management.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
