Senior Medical Front Desk Coordinator | Bellevue Pain and Wellness

Bellevue, WA 98007 | Full Time | $26.00 to $30.00 per hour

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Medical Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. This is not an entry level position. We need someone who can walk into a busy specialty practice and run the front desk with minimal supervision from week two. You will own the patient intake, scheduling, and insurance verification workflows for our practice.

Most of our patients are older adults managing chronic pain. We need someone who is calm, warm, firm when necessary, and operationally fluent in the daily realities of a specialty medical practice.

Minimum Requirements

2+ years of front desk experience in a medical office (private practice, specialty practice, or hospital outpatient setting)
Hands on experience with at least one EHR system
Demonstrated working knowledge of insurance verification, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High school diploma or equivalent

Strongly Preferred

Experience in pain management, interventional pain, orthopedics, neurology, or another specialty practice

Responsibilities

Run patient check in and check out with a calm, warm, professional presence
Manage multi provider scheduling, including procedure scheduling and rescheduling
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Collect patient balances at time of service with a pleasant but firm approach
Manage no shows, cancellations, and waitlist to optimize the schedule
Coordinate with clinical staff on patient flow, refills, and provider questions
Route all clinical questions and substance use questions to providers
Maintain accurate documentation in our EHR (Tebra)
Handle the complex situations: angry patients, billing disputes, complicated insurance scenarios, scheduling conflicts
Other duties as needed in a small specialty practice

Must pass a post-offer/pre-employment background check and drug screening.
