POSITION SUMMARY

Requires a thorough knowledge of shipping, receiving and material stocking procedures and techniques including the necessary record keeping and processing of documents which accompany this function.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Continuously improves products and processes and participates in quality improvement teams when appropriate.

Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery to the customer by maintaining productivity and following department schedules.

Recommends ways to save money and cut unnecessary costs.

Responsible for satisfying the needs of internal and external customers by responding to customer requests, understanding customer requirements and building successful, productive customer relations.

Prepares, packs and crates merchandise for shipment according to shipping invoices, postal regulations or government, commercial and customer specifications.

Prepares packaging which is used in properly preparing parts for shipment and/or storage at IDD.

Prepares material kits from bill of material and/or material pick lists and issues to production.

Counts and bags material for storage and issues material/supplies from stock.

Receives and unpacks supplies, material an goods that are shipped to the company. Verifies received goods against bill of lading, packing slip, invoice or other paperwork.

Completes all stores, receiving and shipping transaction computer data entry.

Recommends what additional equipment and resources are required to meet division goals.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Tracks paint and solvent expiration dates and notifies purchasing when stock levels are low.

Assists in count of inventory.

Conducts material cycle counts in order to verify that on-hand balances reflected in data records exactly match the physical on-hand balance.

Follows all company safety policies and procedures.

Reacts to change productively and handles all other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent

Requires three years experience in shipping/receiving and material stocking.

Experience in international shipping and using shipping vendor software.

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Thorough knowledge of shipping/receiving and material stocking techniques.

Ability to operate a hand truck and fork lift.

Basic computer skills required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in warehouse environment with concrete floors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires up to eight (7) hours of walking and standing at a time.

Required ability to lift 10-20 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally (may be with assistance).

ACCOUNTABILITY

Meets with freight companies when required.

Responsible for on-time daily shipments.

Responsible for assuring all COD orders are handled properly.
