Full Job Description

OVERVIEW:

Reunified Services LLC is hiring full-time qualified independent subcontractors to join our team of visit service workers in providing Family Time parent/child visits to families in Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, San Juan, Island, and King counties. The visit service worker will supervise court-ordered visits between non-custodial parents and their children who are in foster care. The visit service worker is responsible for transporting children to and from the visits, documenting the visits, and submitting paperwork within the required timeframe.

VISIT SERVICE WORKER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for setting up visits between parent(s) and their child(ren).
Responsible for providing a safe environment while transporting child(ren) to and from their visits.
Responsible for arriving on time for visits.
Responsible for providing a safe environment during visitations while maintaining visual and auditory supervision and, if necessary, intervening when the parent(s) or child(ren) demonstrate inappropriate verbal or physical behaviors.
Responsible for writing detailed, non-biased documentation of parent(s) and child(ren) interactions and behaviors and submitting within a strict timeframe.
Capable of handling emergencies, if necessary.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

This is a subcontractor position. Subcontractors do not have medical benefits, paid sick leave, or paid vacation.

21 years of age or older; bilingual a plus (however, not required).
Minimum one (1) year of documented (paid or volunteer) experience working with children.
Pass a WA State background check.
Possess a valid WA State Driver's License.
Obtain a Full Driving Abstract and have a clean driving record.
Obtain State-required auto insurance coverage.
Have reliable transportation and be willing to use your own vehicle for transportation.
Obtain certifications in Adult/Child/Infant CPR, First Aid, & Bloodborne Pathogens.
Obtain an LLC Business License.
Proficient with computers or a laptop.
Must be dependable and possess the ability to work with a diverse population, maintaining client confidentiality, communicating effectively verbally and in writing, and maintaining a high degree of professional boundaries with the families we serve.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift and carry infants and/or young children
Ability to assure the safety of the children, which can require moving quickly
Ability to sit for long periods of time

SKILL SET:

Good oral communication and writing skills
Ability to work effectively with parents and children of diverse populations in a variety of visit locations
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability to write objective, behaviorally descriptive reports
Ability to provide non-judgmental observations
Ability to assure confidentiality
Willing to receive and implement constructive feedback

SCHEDULE:

Monday to Friday
Weekends (Willing to commit to working at least one (1) weekend day)
Attend mandatory monthly team meetings
Flexibility to make your own work schedule

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma/Transcript or GED

AND,

One (1) year of documented experience (may include volunteer time or internship) working with children and families in one of the following settings, but not limited to: daycare, nanny, school setting, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, licensed foster parent, etc.

OR,

*Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field, or two years of completed coursework toward Bachelor's Degree; OR Six (6) months of documented experience working with children and families in one of the following settings (may include volunteer time or internship): daycare, school setting, the YMCA, supervised visitation, a social service agency, or as a licensed foster parent, OR Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field and, (a) Knowledge of child safety; (b) Effective problem solving; (c) Excellent verbal and written communication; (d) Knowledge of basic child development and milestones; and (e) Effective interpersonal communication.
