Full Job Description

Fearnow Insurance is a multi-line, independent insurance business that has been in operation for over 30 years. Our mission to our employees, customers, and carriers is to understand their needs and fulfill their expectations.

The main duty of the Commercial Lines Inside Salesperson is to convert potential clients into actual clients by listening, serving, quoting, and providing a commercial insurance solution that meets the needs of the business owner. They will also be assigned other duties depending on the influx of new business / new clients and will serve as a part of the commercial team. This person must be able to communicate well with clients, underwriters, and the commercial team. They must be detailed oriented and able to keep up with a fast-paced work style. They must be highly motivated to organize, service commercial accounts, and eager to learn. This person must have a team player mentality and exceptional workplace etiquette.

DUTIES

Pre-qualify potential clients by their type of business and buy in.
Convert potential clients to actual clients by meeting their insurance needs and serving them.
Provide quotes in a timely manner and ensure customer understanding.
Sell on value.
Own the phones and serve with excellence.
Communicate well with clients, underwriters, and the commercial team.
Follow up on all assigned tasks and your own work to ensure completion on the carrier or client end. Also ensure the Agency’s management system is updated.
Follow up with the potential clients after releasing quotes.
Document well.
Correspond and negotiate with underwriters.
Assist with walk in clients when applicable.
Build policies and applications in AMS360 to reflect the quotes and policies.
Cultivate a passion for serving others.

INITIATIVE

Take the initiative to get things done with the underwriters & carriers for the clients.
Have a no-quit attitude to find solutions to write business.
Have a positive, upbeat attitude along with determination to complete tasks with excellence.
Negotiate on behalf of the client.

ORGANIZATION

Keep up with incoming phone calls and emails.
Keep up with follow ups and ongoing tasks.
Communicate well with all clients and keep them informed of progress.
Update & review the Agency’s management system for accuracy.
Prioritize deadlines to organize workloads and turn around quotes and proposals ahead of schedule.
Document everything.

SKILLS

Proficient in Microsoft Office, computer literacy, general mathematics, & problem solving
Proficiency in AMS360 is helpful, but not a must

MANAGEMENT

Attend weekly commercial lines team meetings and provide input when applicable.

DRIVE

Work with diligence to achieve greatness & results with excellence.

COMMUNICATION

Communicate well with team members, clients, and carriers.
