Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Phlebotomy Technician and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through precise and efficient specimen collection. In this energized position, you'll be the frontline professional responsible for drawing blood samples, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and accuracy. Your expertise will support diagnostic processes, contribute to effective treatment plans, and uphold our commitment to quality healthcare services. Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
Collect, label, and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring proper handling and storage
Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and maintaining a respectful demeanor across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics
Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, vital signs taken, and patient interactions using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures, health regulations, and safety standards at all times
Assist with specimen processing, data entry, and transportation to the laboratory while managing heavy lifting when necessary
Support laboratory staff by preparing samples for analysis and maintaining cleanliness of work areas

Qualifications

Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or medical laboratory work preferred
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical laboratory practices
Certification or training in phlebotomy, venipuncture, CPR (Basic Life Support), and Blood Sampling techniques required
Familiarity with hospital environments, EMR/EHR systems, and data entry processes essential
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics and geriatrics
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and maintain attention to detail during specimen collection and handling
Knowledge of aseptic technique to prevent contamination during specimen collection
