Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable Human Resources Manager to join our team. This role will establish, oversee, and manage all Human Resources functions, including recruitment, employee orientation and onboarding, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, Workers’ Compensation claims, personnel records, policy enforcement, compliance, training, and employee morale.
The Human Resources Manager will also supervise the payroll department and serve as a trusted resource to management and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace matters.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, oversee, and manage all Human Resources functions and initiatives throughout the organization
- Ensure HR policies, procedures, and programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals, and compliant with professional standards and applicable federal, state, and local laws
- Plan, direct, and manage recruitment, candidate screening, interviewing, orientation, onboarding, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations
- Manage all Workers’ Compensation claims, including reporting, documentation, communication, and coordination with applicable parties and the Safety Department
- Analyze wage and salary reports and market data to develop and maintain competitive compensation plans
- Administer employee benefit programs and communicate benefit information to employees
- Supervise the payroll department and ensure payroll-related processes are completed accurately and timely
- Consult with legal counsel and Human Resources consultants as needed to ensure company policies and employment practices comply with federal and state laws
- Develop and maintain a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) that meets management and organizational reporting needs
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files, HR records, and required documentation
- Analyze, maintain, and communicate records required by law, regulatory agencies, governing bodies, or other departments throughout the company
- Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions and ensure all policies, procedures, and reporting practices remain compliant
- Develop, update, communicate, and consistently enforce company policies and procedures
- Respond to employee and management questions regarding Human Resources policies, benefits, compensation, employee relations, and workplace practices
- Conduct HR-related research and support the development and implementation of organizational programs and initiatives
- Promote and maintain positive employee relations, corporate culture, and employee morale
- Provide senior management with timely updates regarding Human Resources matters, compliance concerns, staffing needs, and organizational trends
Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field, preferably with a concentration in Human Resources (Preferred)
- 5 years of increasingly responsible Human Resources management and Workers’ Compensation experience (Required)
- 5 years of employee benefits administration experience (Required)
- Verifiable employment history demonstrating the required Human Resources management, Workers’ Compensation, and employee benefits administration experience
- Experience supervising or overseeing payroll operations
- Human Resources certification, such as HRCI, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP (Preferred)
- Thorough knowledge of federal and California employment laws, regulations, and HR compliance requirements
- Experience developing, implementing, communicating, and enforcing HR policies and procedures
- Experience with HRIS management, employee records, and government reporting requirements
- Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and Workers’ Compensation
- Strong leadership, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Pay: $70,000 - $115,000 per year
Classification: Exempt
Expected Hours: 40 per week

Education:
- Four-year degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field, preferably with a concentration in Human Resources (Preferred)
- HRCI, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification (Preferred)
Experience:
- Human Resources management: 5 years (Required)
