Experienced Medical Front Desk Specialist / Medical Receptionist - Pain Management

Compensation: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role: Our growing pain management practice in Leawood is seeking an experienced, full-time Medical Front Desk Specialist to join our team.

This is an important patient-facing role for someone who is warm, professional, highly organized, confident with computers, and experienced in a busy medical office. You will be the first point of contact for our patients and a key part of creating a smooth, professional, and welcoming experience from the moment they arrive.

This role requires a significant amount of computer work and daily interaction with the electronic medical record, so strong software skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in multiple systems are essential.

What You Will Do:

Welcome patients and create a positive first impression.
Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently.
Collect copays, balances, and monthly patient payments in a professional and respectful manner.
Verify and update demographics, insurance, and other patient information.
Enter and maintain accurate information in the EMR.
Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage front desk communication.
Scan and upload documents into the patient chart.
Communicate clearly with patients, providers, and staff.
Handle difficult or upset patient situations calmly, respectfully, and professionally.
Help keep the front office organized, efficient, and running smoothly throughout the day.

What We Are Looking For:

Prior medical front desk or medical receptionist experience required.
Strong computer skills and confidence using EMR/EHR systems required.
Experience collecting patient payments and discussing balances professionally.
Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office.
Professional, dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Preferred: Experience in pain management, orthopedics, spine, or another specialty office.
Preferred: eClinicalWorks experience.

Schedule & Location Details:

Full-time, Monday through Friday
Traditional business hours
This is an on-site position in Leawood, KS. Applicants should currently live within the Kansas City metro area or within reliable commuting distance.
