Full Job Description

The Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse, Inc. is a citizen-based organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect in all forms and providing intervention and treatment when our children have become victims. The Child Advocacy Center is the community’s primary source of relief when a child is victimized — responding rapidly and effectively to minimize further trauma, promote appropriate therapy for the child and non-offending family members, and follow up through investigation and treatment.

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and strategic Executive Director to lead the Coalition and Child Advocacy Center. The Executive Director will provide visionary leadership, operational oversight, fundraising expertise, and robust community engagement to advance our Purpose and Mission: preventing child abuse and delivering coordinated, trauma-informed response and long-term support for affected children and families across Lincoln County.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Planning

Provide visionary leadership aligned with the organization’s Purpose and Mission, values, and strategic goals.
Develop and implement long-term strategic plans and annual objectives that strengthen child abuse prevention, coordinated response, and post‑victim support.
Foster a culture of compassion, accountability, collaboration, and trauma-informed care across programs and partnerships.
Serve as the organization’s primary spokesperson and ambassador in service of prevention, intervention, and advocacy.

Operations & Administration

Oversee day-to-day operations of the Coalition and the Child Advocacy Center, including programs, administration, finance, and human resources.
Ensure rapid, coordinated responses to reported cases of child abuse that minimize trauma to children and non-offending family members.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, grant requirements, and nonprofit best practices.
Develop policies and procedures with the Board to support effective investigations, therapeutic referrals, and sustained follow-up with children and families.
Maintain systems for program evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement.

Financial Management & Fundraising

Prepare and manage the annual operating budget to sustain direct services and prevention efforts.
Ensure sound financial stewardship and accountability.
Build and maintain relationships with foundations, government agencies, corporate sponsors, and individual donors to support the Center’s rapid response and therapy programs.
Lead fundraising strategy and support grant writing and donor stewardship to expand services and outreach.

Board Relations

Partner with the Board of Directors to support governance, strategic planning, and organizational growth focused on prevention and victim support.
Provide regular, transparent reports on organizational performance, finances, program outcomes, and community impact.
Support board recruitment, orientation, and engagement to strengthen leadership and oversight.

Community Relations & Advocacy

Develop and sustain collaborative partnerships with schools, law enforcement, healthcare providers, social services, mental health professionals, and community organizations to coordinate responses and referrals.
Advocate for policies and initiatives that support child protection, trauma-informed care, and family well-being.
Increase public awareness of child abuse prevention, reporting pathways, and available intervention services.
Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and media engagements to advance the Mission.

Staff Leadership & Development

Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff and volunteers committed to trauma-informed practice.
Promote professional development, self-care, and employee engagement to sustain high-quality service delivery.
Foster a supportive, inclusive, and resilient workplace culture.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, public administration, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of leadership or senior management experience, preferably in nonprofit, child advocacy, social services, or related sectors.
Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, and budget management.
Strong communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and child welfare systems preferred.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex partnerships, and prioritize multiple initiatives effectively.
