Full Job Description

Job Summary

Manage and mentor department associates, quality supervisor and a team of engineers in all areas of automotive quality related activities, productions quality systems, dimensional control processing, and PPAP functions. Focus on new inspection technology & operating systems. Provide department engineers with comprehensive evaluations to include clear performance improvement direction. Thai Summit Management representative for the Quality department and Customer representative for Quality. Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by Management.

Duties

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with IATF 16949, ISO standards and other relevant regulations.
Oversee quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring products meet established quality standards in production.
Facilitate cross-functional communication between production, engineering, supply chain, and regulatory teams to resolve quality issues swiftly.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Six Sigma methodologies and Lean management principles to optimize manufacturing efficiency and reduce defects.
Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformances using analysis skills like GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and statistical tools.
Lead and mentor the quality team which includes engineers, technicians and quality supervisor to uphold rigorous QA/QC protocols while fostering a culture of accountability.

Requirements

Proven experience practicing in an automotive manufacturing engineering role with a strong focus on quality assurance and control.
Extensive knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards, PPAP and APQP.
Demonstrated expertise in conducting quality audits, inspections, and implementing corrective actions.
Strong understanding of quality systems such as ISO, Six Sigma manufacturing, QA/QC processes, and Lean management techniques.
Proficiency in analysis skills including GD&T for precise measurement and inspection activities.
Excellent team leadership abilities combined with cross-functional communication skills to coordinate efforts across departments and with a broad customer base.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt are highly desirable; experience practicing in manufacturing environments is essential.

Basic Education, Experience and Training Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 2 years in relevant Engineering or Quality experience with a similar company with similar products.
Ability to interpret Engineering and Quality information.
Must have demonstrated Management/Leadership experience.
Must have experience in developing and maintaining automotive customer relationships.
IATF certification strongly preferred. Must be willing to obtain certification.
