Full Job Description

Full-Charge Bookkeeper

Position Overview

North Texas CPA firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented full-charge bookkeeper who thrives in a multi-client environment. In this role, you won't just keep the books for one company; you will act as a dedicated, trusted accounting resource for a portfolio of clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

Client Portfolio Management: Manage the full-cycle bookkeeping and monthly accounting closes for assigned clients.
General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorized within the ledger. Reconcile the general ledger with source documents, such as bank and credit card statements. Make necessary adjusting journal entries (AJEs).
Financial Statement Preparation: Review general ledgers, identify discrepancies, and prepare accurate financial statements.
Payroll & Sales Tax Compliance: Process or review client payroll, manage payroll tax filings, and prepare monthly/quarterly sales and use tax returns as needed.
CPA Collaboration: Ensure books are meticulously organized and "tax-ready" for our tax preparation team at year-end.
Client Advisory: Serve as a primary point of contact for routine client questions, assisting them with software troubleshooting and basic financial clarity.

Qualifications & Skills

Firm Experience: Minimum of [3+] years of full-charge bookkeeping experience is required. Previous experience with a CPA firm is preferred.
Software: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Microsoft Office.
Accounting Acumen: Deep understanding of GAAP, double-entry accounting, debits/credits, and accounting workflows.
Adaptability: The ability to self-manage, prioritize competing deadlines, and seamlessly transition communication styles based on the client.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation is a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
