Summary
The Senior Director of Human Resources is a key leader of The Arc Caddo-Bossier, responsible for planning, leading, directing, developing, and coordinating the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources (HR) department. This position works to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention, while fostering a culture that supports The Arc Caddo-Bossier's mission to serve individuals with disabilities and their families. The Senior Director of Human Resources also ensures legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required from an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferred
- At least five years of human resources management experience required, preferably in a nonprofit or social services setting
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR highly preferred

Essential Job Functions
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resources compliance and strategy needs.
- Administers or oversees the administration of human resources programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resources information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Facilitates mediation between employees, supervisors, and teams to achieve constructive resolutions, providing guidance and intervention to resolve workplace conflicts in a fair and effective manner.
- Develops and implements departmental budget.
- Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
- Oversees the organization-wide annual performance evaluation process and ensures consistency, compliance, and timely completion. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with agency policy.
- Administers pay-for-performance programs and salary recommendations aligned with performance outcomes and organizational compensation strategies.
- Oversees workers’ compensation claims, case management, and return-to-work coordination.
- Administers leave programs and coordinates employee return-to-work processes in compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of The Arc Caddo-Bossier by the way of systems that will improve the overall operation of the agency. Review HR policies and procedures annually and update as needed.
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Foster trust with The Arc Caddo-Bossier Board of Directors and senior leadership such that these key stakeholders seek direction and guidance from the Director of Human Resources on personnel and HR matters.
OSHA Standards
- Ability to work a standard 40-hour workweek, with flexibility to respond to organizational needs outside of normal hours.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Ability to use both hands in fine and gross manipulation of small tools (copier, computer, telephone).
- Ability to push and pull up to 15 lbs. (File cabinet drawers, computer paper boxes).
- Ability to see well enough to read handwritten and typewritten material.
- Ability to hear and speak well enough to communicate via phone.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds dead weight to move or transfer boxes or documents.
- Ability to retrieve files from bottom shelves/drawers and reach up for items located on top shelves.
- Ability to reach, turn and twist above and below the waist daily to retrieve files or supplies.
- Ability to stand and walk daily to retrieve forms/supplies.
- Ability to spend 90% of working time in environment of continuous moderate voices and office machine noise typical for business office atmosphere.
- Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
