MRI Technologist – Mobile MRI Unit (VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA)

Employment Type: Contract (W-2 with our company; assigned to VA facility) Location: Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, Louisiana Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Monday / Wednesday / Friday Pay: $45–$55/hour, based on experience — plus monthly scan bonus

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team supporting a mobile MRI trailer stationed at the VA Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. In this role, you'll provide high-quality imaging services to our nation's veterans in a dedicated, single-modality mobile unit. You'll be an employee of our company, contracted to deliver imaging services on-site at the VA — giving you the structure and support of a dedicated employer with the mission-driven satisfaction of serving those who served.

Schedule & Volume

Three 12-hour shifts per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Approximately 20 patient scans per day
Full-time hours with a condensed, predictable weekly schedule

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay: $45–$55/hour, commensurate with experience
Monthly scan bonus: Additional earning potential based on monthly scan volume thresholds

Responsibilities

Perform high-quality MRI scans on veteran patients in a mobile trailer setting
Position patients correctly and select appropriate imaging protocols
Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the scanning process, including MRI safety screening
Maintain and troubleshoot mobile MRI equipment, coordinating with service teams as needed
Accurately document scans and maintain patient records in compliance with VA and company standards
Collaborate with VA staff, radiologists, and referring providers to ensure smooth workflow
Maintain compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards (ACR, state licensure, etc.)

Qualifications

ARRT certification in MRI
Current state licensure as required
Prior MRI experience required; mobile unit experience a plus
BLS certification
Ability to pass VA background check and credentialing requirements
Strong communication skills and comfort working independently in a mobile unit setting
Compassion and professionalism when working with veteran patients
