Job Summary - Why you’ll love this position

Southeast Missouri Residential Services (SEMORS) is a licensed and certified residential program through the Department of Mental Health and Department of Health and Senior Services. SEMORS is in search for a Quality Enhancement Registered Nurse (QERN) who is energetic and enjoys teaching best practices to promote health and wellness among the people supported and employees. The regular work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (may be negotiable) with Saturday and Sunday off. Occasional coverage on other shifts may be necessary at times to meet the needs of the facility, along with infrequent travel to attend offsite meetings and trainings.

This is a professional registered nurse position accountable for serving as a member of the medical treatment team. A successful candidate has previous experience, a strong work ethic and an active interest in serving, empowering, and supporting Missourians to live their best lives.

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

This is a professional registered nurse position accountable for serving as a member of the medical treatment team with a focus on infection control, quality of nursing care, and compliance with state and federal guidelines. Analyzing data and trends of specific health indicators to recommend measures for improvement.

- Coordinate clinical inquires and Abuse/Neglect investigations.
- Report evaluations to quality improvement manager.
- Prepare corrective action recommendations.
- Serve as employee healthcare nurse and maintain oversight of required staff certifications, including level one med administration, CPR/1st Aid.
- Responsible for infection control oversight.
- Coordinate mortality reviews.

Qualifications - All you need for success

Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri or in accordance with Missouri's Nurse Licensure Compact.
Knowledge of current nursing theory, practices, and techniques. Skill in applying practical nursing principles in the care of persons with physical or mental illness, developmental or intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities and/or the geriatric population.
At least 2-4 years of experience working as a registered nurse.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to perform physical requirements of position, including frequent standing and walking, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
