Job Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Dietary Aide, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional nutritional care and support to our residents. This energetic position involves assisting with meal service, food preparation, sanitation, and ensuring that dietary needs are met with precision and compassion. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment that promotes health, safety, and well-being for all residents. Duties

Assist with meal preparation, portioning, and serving in accordance with dietary requirements and safety standards
Support food production activities, including basic cooking and food handling tasks in compliance with sanitation protocols
Ensure proper use of kitchen equipment and adherence to safe lifting practices during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks
Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards
Help with bussing tables, sanitation, and ensuring a tidy environment for residents and staff
Follow all workplace safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe food handling practices
Support dietary department operations by managing time efficiently to meet meal schedules and resident needs

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and sanitation standards such as JCAHO guidelines or similar accreditation bodies
Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively
Strong understanding of adhering to dietary requirements for geriatric or special needs populations
Ability to work well with geriatric patients and provide excellent customer service in a compassionate manner
Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management
Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification preferred
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and stand for extended periods during shifts
Commitment to workplace safety protocols including proper PPE use and sanitation procedures
