Full Job Description

Sisters Coffee is hiring for our two locations in Bend, OR. Along with our Old Mill location, Sisters is opening a cafe in the new Jackstraw building with an expanded food program. Our cafes focus on serving quality and convenient breakfast items: breakfast sandwiches, burritos, bowls, bagels, toasts, house made pastries and more! The Sisters Coffee crew is a dedicated and high-energy team that works closely together.

The back-of-house team at our cafes are responsible for working the line and daily food prep. All team members share the responsibility for dishes and keeping a clean and organized workspace.

We are seeking a prep/breakfast cook to help our culinary teams meet the demands of our high volume kitchen- availability daily between 5:30am - 4pm including weekends. Typical shifts range from 6-8 hours. We are hiring for both full and part-time positions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Quality and Preparation

As Prep - Work to ensure all components are prepped and maintained to keep the line stocked and ready for service.
As Line - Consistently prepare and serve high-quality, to-go food to order with fast ticket times using induction burners, convection ovens and high-speed Turbo Chef food ovens.
Willingness to take on any tasks necessary in the daily kitchen flow. Running food, washing dishes, sweeping/mopping floors, wiping counters, etc.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Able to work 4-9 hour shifts while standing or walking for extended periods of time.
Able to work a flexible schedule - typical shifts are between 5:30am and 4pm - including mornings, weekends (required), and holidays. Recurring weekly schedule is typical.
Able to grasp, lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
Able to maneuver effectively at both high (step stools/ladders) and low levels around the kitchen, restaurant, office, and up/downstairs.
Able to work in hot (next to ovens and stoves) and cold (walk-in fridge and freezer) temperatures.

Requirements

1-2 years of work or culinary school experience in a commercial kitchen recommended.
Valid Oregon Food handlers card or ServSafe certification within 30 days of hire
Willingness to work both week and weekend days with shifts scheduled between 5:30am and 4pm. Must be willing to work afternoons AND weekends.
Ability to reliably show up to work on time.
