Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Recon/Service Manager to lead our vehicle inspection, repair, and service operations. In this role, you will oversee the entire recon and service process, ensuring vehicles are accurately assessed, repaired, and prepared for sale or customer delivery. Your leadership will drive efficiency, uphold quality standards, and foster exceptional customer communication. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your automotive expertise, management skills, and passion for delivering top-tier service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Manage the vehicle recon process from initial inspection through completion, ensuring timely turnaround and high-quality repairs.
Supervise and coordinate the work of service technicians, mechanics, and collision repair specialists to meet operational goals.
Utilize estimating software to accurately assess vehicle damages and generate repair estimates that maximize upselling opportunities.
Oversee vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, air brake systems, transmissions, and other mechanical repairs.
Ensure compliance with dealership standards for automotive diagnostics and repair procedures while maintaining safety protocols.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status, additional service needs, and upselling opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction.
Handle cash transactions related to service work and maintain accurate records of all service activities and client interactions.
Use computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to prepare detailed repair plans and facilitate accurate invoicing.
Maintain a thorough understanding of dealership operations including service writing, auto estimating, collision repair processes, and automotive service management.
Drive continuous improvement by analyzing workflow efficiencies and implementing best practices for recon operations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in auto service management or as a service technician with strong mechanical knowledge.
Demonstrated ability in automotive diagnostics across various systems such as transmissions, brakes, suspension, tire services, shocks & struts, air brakes, etc.
Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
Dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with collision repair processes is a plus.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about repairs and upselling opportunities.
Experience in auto estimating, service writing, and sales techniques to maximize revenue opportunities.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail inrecord keeping.
