Job description

We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced HOA General Manager to lead operations at an onsite community in San Diego. As a well-established HOA management firm based in California, we are committed to providing exceptional service and leadership to the communities we serve.

The General Manager will act as a key liaison between the Board of Directors and the Association, ensuring the protection and enhancement of the community’s assets, reputation, and overall quality of life. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations while driving the achievement of long-term strategic goals. The General Manager will coordinate and oversee services across all areas of the Association, implementing policies and procedures through direct oversight and collaboration with staff, contractors, and vendors in alignment with the community’s objectives.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees all on-site operations and ensures smooth day-to-day management.
Acts as the primary point of contact between the Board of Directors and the community.
Coordinates with contractors and community volunteers to implement Board decisions.
Supports the Board by conducting research, preparing bid specifications, and managing contracts.
Evaluates contractor performance and ensures compliance with service agreements.
Drafts meeting minutes and compiles action item lists following Board meetings.
Manages and delegates punch list items to appropriate personnel for timely resolution.
Provides regular project updates to the Board and seeks direction or approvals as needed.
Organizes and oversees Annual Meetings and community elections.
Fosters a positive community atmosphere through effective communication and service.
Develops and manages annual operating and reserve budgets in line with governing documents and Board policies.
Establishes and maintains a comprehensive capital reserve program in compliance with regulations and association standards.
Perform other assigned duties by the supervisor.

Qualification Requirements:

Exceptional customer service and resident relations skills
Strong interpersonal abilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Effective written, verbal, and listening communication skills
Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Solid financial and budgeting experience, including oversight of community budgets
Familiarity with landscape and maintenance operations; able to guide and evaluate vendor performance
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR)
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the community as needed

Education and Experience:

At least 5+ years of experience in HOA Property Management or related role required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Certification through CAI or CACM
