Position Summary:
The 2nd Shift Load Lot Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the Load Lot during to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate movement, staging, loading, and preparation of finished products for shipment. This position provides direct supervision to Load Lot employees, coordinates priorities with Logistics, Shipping, Production, and other operational teams, and ensures customer orders are prepared and executed according to established standards. The Load Lot Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping, staffing, and employee performance at the load yard. This role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage competing priorities, resolve operational issues, develop employees, and maintain strong communication between shifts and departments.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate daily 2nd shift Load Lot activities, including product movement, staging, loading, inventory organization, and shipment preparation.

Plan and assign daily work based on shipping schedules, customer requirements, staffing levels, operational priorities, and available equipment.

Monitor load execution to ensure products are accurately staged, properly loaded, secured, and prepared for shipment in accordance with established procedures.

Coordinate closely with Logistics, Shipping, Production and other departments to resolve operational issues and maintain workflow.

Review workload and staffing requirements throughout the shift and adjust assignments as needed to meet changing business demands.

Ensure accurate product movement and staging to minimize loading errors, shipment delays, damaged product, and inventory discrepancies.

Monitor employee productivity and work performance and provide timely coaching, feedback, and corrective action when necessary.

Ensure employees follow all company policies, safety procedures, work instructions, and operating standards.

Promote and maintain a safe work environment, including proper use of PPE, material-handling equipment, and safe loading practices.

Lead and maintain 5S standards throughout the Load Lot to ensure a clean, organized, safe, and efficient work area.

Ensure equipment, tools, and materials necessary for Load Lot operations are available and properly maintained; escalate maintenance needs promptly.

Monitor product condition and communicate quality concerns or damaged product to the appropriate departments.

Maintain effective shift-to-shift communication regarding staffing, production priorities, incomplete loads, equipment issues, safety concerns, and other operational matters.

Monitor attendance and staffing and follow established procedures for call-ins, tardiness, overtime, and other attendance-related matters.

Support employee training, cross-training, onboarding, and development to improve workforce flexibility and operational capability.

Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, minimize waste, and improve overall Load Lot efficiency.

Assist with implementation of process improvements, standard work, and operational initiatives.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to Load Lot activities and employee performance.

Collaborate with other supervisors to share resources, best practices, and solutions to operational challenges.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Load Lot and Company operations.

Decision Making Authority:

Assign and prioritize work within the Load Lot based on established production and shipping requirements.

Adjust employee assignments and labor resources to address changing workload and staffing conditions.

Determine appropriate responses to routine operational issues within established procedures and supervisor authority.

Stop work or escalate an operation when an immediate safety, quality, equipment, or compliance concern exists.

Approve routine operational adjustments necessary to maintain workflow within established guidelines.

Recommend overtime, staffing adjustments, training needs, disciplinary action, and process improvements to management.

Escalate significant safety, quality, employee relations, equipment, inventory, or customer-impacting issues to the appropriate leader.

Make day-to-day decisions that support safe, efficient, and accurate Load Lot operations while remaining within Company policies, procedures, and established authority.
Required Qualifications:
Education
-
High school diploma or GED required.
-
Additional technical, manufacturing, logistics, or leadership education is preferred.
Experience
-
2+ years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, shipping, loading, or a related operational environment preferred.

Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
-
Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
-
Experience operating or working around forklifts, material-handling equipment, or similar equipment preferred.
Certifications
-
Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification as required.

Additional safety, equipment, or leadership certifications are a plus.

Work Environment

Primarily based in a manufacturing and outdoor Load Lot environment.

Regular exposure to moving equipment, trucks, trailers, forklifts, finished products, and other industrial activities.

May be exposed to varying temperatures, weather conditions, dust, noise, and other typical manufacturing and outdoor operational conditions.

Must maintain compliance with all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental health and safety standards.

Position requires regular presence on the 2nd shift and may require flexibility based on business and operational needs.
