This journeyman-level position involves executing high-quality structural and industrial pipe welding for a variety of applications, including process and utility piping, equipment supports, structural modifications, and machinery installations. You will be working in diverse settings such as active manufacturing plants, heavy commercial sites, and during facility shutdowns. Core Responsibilities-
Execute structural and pipe welding on various materials like carbon and stainless steel, adhering to project-specific procedures.

Interpret complex technical documents, including blueprints, piping isometrics, P&IDs, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

Prepare, fit, tack, and align components to ensure they meet precise project dimensions and joint requirements.

Utilize various welding methods such as SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW based on assignment needs.

Help ensure project integrity by meticulously cutting, beveling, and cleaning base materials to meet strict fit-up tolerances.

Verify the quality of finished welds and surrounding areas to help maintain high standards and minimize rework.

Collaborate with other trades like Millwrights and Pipe Fitters to foster a more efficient and synchronized installation process.

Navigate challenging environments, including elevated or confined spaces, while upholding site-specific safety protocols and OSHA standards.

Help maintain a safe and organized workspace by keeping tools, leads, and welding equipment in good working order.

Complete additional tasks as required by project needs.
Physical Expectations-
Capable of climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds while working in tight or high-elevation areas.

Demonstrate precise hand-eye coordination while operating various welding and material-handling tools.

Perform demanding physical tasks such as kneeling, reaching, bending, and crouching to handle heavy components.

Maintain high levels of alertness and mobility while working in varied conditions on active industrial sites.
Required Qualifications-
At least 3 years of professional experience in industrial structural or pipe welding.

Pass our internal welding qualification tests, which may include 6G pipe or various structural plate certifications.

Ensure all weld tests comply with ASME Section IX, AWS standards, and specific project acceptance criteria.

Demonstrated proficiency in using SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW equipment for structural and piping tasks.

Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings, welding symbols, and WPS documentation.

Solid understanding of metallurgy, joint preparation, and hot-work safety; a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Operational Guidelines-

Structural & Pipe Welding Duties-
Perform code-compliant pipe welds, including 6G and small-bore applications, to ensure system reliability.

Execute structural groove and fillet welds, including 2G, 3G, and 4G positions, to support project structural integrity.

Strictly follow WPS requirements regarding amperage, polarity, and shielding gas to ensure consistent weld quality.

Collaborate with fabricators to verify joint cleanliness and alignment, helping to prevent errors before welding begins.

Assist in maintaining project documentation, including weld maps and inspection hold points, to ensure full traceability.

Apply proper techniques to manage heat input and bead placement, contributing to a high-quality final weld profile.

Coordinate with quality personnel to complete any necessary repairs, ensuring the final product meets all standards.

Treat every weld as a critical component that must be ready for rigorous visual or radiographic examination.
