Job Summary
The Assistant Supervisor is a working leader who drives
moment-to-moment execution of production activities on the line, reporting to
the Production Supervisor. This role trains employees directly, models proper techniques,
reinforces documentation accuracy, and drives shift performance through
hands-on engagement and real-time coaching. The Assistant Supervisor recommends
staffing, performance, and disciplinary actions to the Supervisor but does not
hold final decision-making authority; this role builds supervisory-track
experience by executing the Supervisor's priorities on the floor every shift.
Position Responsibilities
Line Leadership & Hands-On Production
· Work directly on the production line to support throughput, troubleshoot issues, and model correct procedures.
· Train employees in real time by demonstrating proper techniques, documentation practices, and equipment operation.
· Monitor individual and team performance during active production and provide immediate coaching.
· Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies on the line and implement adjustments to improve flow and output, escalating larger changes to the Supervisor.
· Support changeovers, material staging, and equipment setup to maintain production continuity.
Operational Support
· Coordinate daily activities on the assigned line, assign personnel, and adjust priorities based on QC holds, equipment status, or material availability.
· Track production metrics and shift performance to support traceability and continuous improvement, reporting trends to the Supervisor.
· Partner with Maintenance and QC to resolve issues impacting product quality or throughput.
· Ensure production areas remain organized, compliant, and inspection ready at all times.
NetSuite Production Entry
· Manage Work in Process (WIP) on NetSuite to ensure accurate real-time production status and material flow.
· Complete and verify NetSuite Scrap Reports to maintain accurate yield, loss, and cost tracking.
· Process NetSuite Work Orders (WOs), including issuing materials, closing operations, and updating production progress.
· Perform NetSuite Bin Transfers to maintain accurate inventory movement and location control.
· Ensure all NetSuite entries are timely, accurate, and compliant with Innovive's quality and documentation standards.
Quality Control (QC) & FDA/ISO Compliance Support
· Enforce Innovive's Quality System requirements, including FDA 21 CFR Part 820 (QSR), ISO 13485 principles, and internal SOPs.
· Support QC by performing process checks, verifying specifications, and documenting nonconformances.
· Maintain strict adherence to GMP, gowning, contamination control, and documentation standards.
· Participate in investigations, CAPA activities, and root cause analysis when quality issues arise, escalating findings to the Supervisor.
Team Training & Development
· Provide hands-on coaching to employees during active production, reinforcing SOPs, GMP, and proper documentation.
· Support onboarding and cross-training to build a flexible, capable workforce.
· Address routine employee questions and concerns on the floor; escalate performance, conduct, or conflicts to the Supervisor.
· Promote a culture of safety, accountability, communication, and compliance.
Safety & Environmental Controls
· Enforce PPE, safe machine operation, and hazard control procedures during all production activities.
· Participate in incident investigations and corrective action follow-up.
· Support safety audits, training sessions, and compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
· Maintain accurate NetSuite entries and QC documentation for production, scrap, inventory movement, and material usage.
· Identify opportunities to improve SOPs, workflows, and documentation systems, and bring recommendations to the Supervisor.
· Help implement process improvements and new procedures aligned with Innovive's growth.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational goals and quality objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification a plus.
