Full Job Description

Client is a well-established and growing CPA firm in Century City, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team. Position Overview

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced tax professional with 10+ years of public accounting tax experience. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable preparing complex tax returns, supervising and mentoring staff, reviewing work product, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. We are looking for someone who leads by example and enjoys remaining actively involved in the technical aspects of tax preparation while overseeing engagements from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, estate, and trust tax returns.
Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals while ensuring high-quality work and timely completion of engagements.
Maintain a hands-on role in tax preparation rather than serving solely in a review capacity.
Communicate directly with clients and client personnel to obtain information and provide proactive guidance.
Prepare income tax projections and planning strategies under multiple scenarios.
Conduct tax research and analyze complex tax issues, providing practical recommendations and risk assessments.
Advise clients on complex tax matters, including international tax issues when applicable.
Manage multiple client engagements while maintaining exceptional client service and technical accuracy.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive public accounting tax experience with significant hands-on tax preparation and supervisory responsibilities.
License: Active CPA or EA license required.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting is a plus.
Skills: Strong technical tax knowledge, leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to outstanding client service.
Work Arrangement: Full-time, in-office position located in Century City, Los Angeles. No remote or hybrid work arrangements.
