Full Job Description

Location: Coming Soon! We're expanding with a new showroom in the New York–Connecticut border area. This position will be based from that location while traveling throughout the United States to serve customers at conferences, seminaries, churches, and special events.

For more than 130 years, CM Almy has been the leading supplier of quality apparel and church goods to clergy and churches across the United States. We are seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Traveling Sales Representative who enjoys meeting people, traveling extensively, and helping customers find the products that best serve their ministries.

What You'll Do:

As our Traveling Sales Representative, you'll represent Almy at conferences, seminaries, diocesan events, trade shows, and churches throughout the United States. You'll build lasting relationships while educating customers about our products, our heritage, and what makes Almy unique.

When you're not traveling, you'll work from our showroom, assisting retail customers and participating in our inbound customer service phone rotation.

Responsibilities:

Travel throughout the United States approximately 60+ overnight stays each year.
Represent Almy at conferences, conventions, seminaries, church gatherings, and other industry events.
Transport or coordinate shipment of booth materials and products.
Set up, merchandise, and break down professional sales displays.
Educate clergy, church leaders, seminarians, and customers about Almy products and services.
Develop long-term relationships with customers and church organizations.
Generate sales through consultative conversations and product demonstrations.
Process customer orders, quotes, exchanges, and follow-up requests.
Coordinate travel schedules and customer appointments.
Prepare reports following customer visits and events.
Identify customer needs and market trends.
Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity.
When not traveling, provide outstanding retail sales and customer service from our showroom.
Participate in the inbound customer service phone rotation, assisting customers with product questions, order placement, and service needs.
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Product Management to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

What We're Looking For:

Three or more years of outside sales, relationship sales, or consultative sales experience.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Comfortable speaking with individuals and groups.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a travel schedule.
Customer-focused with a passion for building long-term relationships.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM/order entry systems.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively (60+ overnight stays annually).
Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air and automobile.

Preferred:

Experience serving churches, faith-based organizations, education, healthcare, nonprofit, or other relationship-based markets.
Knowledge of liturgical traditions is helpful but not required—we'll teach you our products and customers.

Physical Requirements:

Lift and carry display materials and product samples up to approximately 40 pounds.
Stand for extended periods during conferences and trade shows.
Work occasional evenings and weekends while traveling.
Ability to set up and dismantle conference displays.
