Job Overview
As a Medical Office Specialist, your expertise will be vital in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. In this energetic role, you will manage a variety of administrative and clinical tasks, utilizing your knowledge of EMR/EHR systems, appointment scheduling, health insurance processes and patient support. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your medical office experience in a supportive setting.

Responsibilities

Management of patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and rescheduling using EMR/EHR system
Manage front desk operations by greeting patients, answering phone calls with professional phone etiquette, and handling patient inquiries promptly
Utilize computer skills to manage electronic health records (EHR) systems effectively and perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and document scanning
Proven medical clinic experience with an understanding of medical terminology with knowledge in regards to Otolaryngology is a plus
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems with usage of Prognocis being desirable
Knowledge of health insurance processes and proper identification of the practice's in-network insurance plans for accurate billing
Review and update medical records ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and in person while maintaining professionalism
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while complying with clinical confidentiality policies
Demonstrated medical clerical experience including data entry, filing, collection and batching of daily patient payments and managing electronic health records efficiently
Manage cleaning of instrumentation, as well as maintaining a clean and stocked clinical area.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for administrative support tasks
