Full Job Description

Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team in Arizona. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in endoscopic procedures, critical care, and a broad range of medical specialties. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized nursing care across diverse clinical settings, including outpatient and inpatient environments. The Travel Endoscopy RN will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, assisting with complex procedures, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Candidates with a passion for travel nursing and a commitment to excellence are encouraged to apply.

Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by conducting thorough assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and current medications.
Assist physicians during endoscopic interventions such as colonoscopies, upper GI endoscopies, and other minimally invasive procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety.
Monitor patient responses throughout procedures, managing sedation levels and providing immediate post-procedure care.
Administer medications including IV infusions, sedation agents, and analgesics following strict protocols and documentation standards.
Maintain detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care, including bowel preparation, medication instructions, and follow-up appointments.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various specialties such as gastroenterology, cardiology, ophthalmology, and critical care units to optimize patient outcomes.
Adhere to infection control protocols and sterile processing procedures during all clinical activities.
Support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and best practices in outpatient endoscopy services.

Requirements

Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice, or a temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
BLS certification is required.
Experience in an acute care hospital setting is required, with a minimum of 1 year recent experience in an acute care or specialty area within the past 12 months.
2 years' experience as a RN is required
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
Professional certification (preferred).
