Full Job Description

We are seeking CNC Swiss Set‑Up Operators across multiple experience levels to support precision machining operations in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC Swiss machines to produce high‑quality components with tight tolerances. Ideal candidates will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning, quality, and safe work practices. Candidates with advanced Swiss machining experience, programming ability, and troubleshooting expertise are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Set up CNC Swiss machines for production runs, including material loading, tooling selection/installation, and workpiece holding.
Interpret engineering drawings, models, and technical specifications to ensure accurate machining.
Operate CNC Swiss machines to produce components with tight tolerances and complex geometries.
Input tool offsets, adjust machine settings, and perform basic to advanced program edits depending on experience level.
For senior-level candidates: program CNC Swiss machines using CAM software (e.g., Esprit, PartMaker) or manual G/M‑code programming and perform test cuts to validate programs.
Monitor machining processes, inspect parts using precision measuring instruments, and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
Troubleshoot machining issues and identify opportunities for process optimization.
Perform routine machine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn components.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.
Train and mentor junior operators (for advanced-level roles).
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing or machining environment; 5+ years preferred for senior‑level operators.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools and precision equipment.
Knowledge of CNC Swiss machining processes, tooling, materials, and tolerances.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
Proficiency with G‑code/M‑code and CAM software (advanced roles).
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork skills; leadership abilities for senior operators.
Commitment to safety and adherence to company procedures.

Education

High school diploma required.
2‑year technical certification or equivalent experience preferred.

Work Environment

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and occasional electrical hazards.
Noise levels range from moderate to loud.
Frequent standing, sitting, handling components, and use of hands and fingers.
Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs; various vision capabilities required.

Pay: $25.00 - $42.00 per hour
