Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Assistance Coordinator position is responsible for assisting students with applying for federal student aid. The FAC is responsible for assisting students and the FA systems office in managing a student’s financial assistance. This position is responsible for creating and sustaining an environment of professional excellence.

POSITION RESPONSIBILTIES

Determine student eligibility for Title IV Funding and other financial assistance programs.
Responsible for communicating to each student and/or parent the cost of the education program, the financial assistance available.
Award and package students financial assistance and clearly communicate funding to student and/or parent and assist the student and/or parent with completion of Financial Aid paperwork.
If applicable, perform prescreens for new student applicants.
Assist students with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid applications (FAFSA) for all students.
Review and submit necessary paperwork and documentation for all enrolling students to the Systems Financial Assistance office.
Request and collect proper documentation for student files.
Promote reapplication deadline and reapplication process for financial aid each new award year to all enrolled students. All students must be repackaged each year by the date provided by the Systems Director of Financial Assistance. The FAC is responsible for student follow up to ensure the deadline is met.
Provide entrance counseling with all federal student loan.
Assist with exit counseling for all federal student loan borrowers at the time of withdrawal or within 30 days of the completion of their program.
Responsible for working a minimum of 1 late evenings a week, if applicable, to ensure that all students have access to financial assistance.
Transmit all financial aid paperwork for students enrolled in each start by the second week of class to the systems office.
Assist the Systems Financial Assistance office with in-campus and yearly audits, collecting documentation as requested.
Manage daily memo and funding report and collect documentation as needed to ensure a student’s financial assistance disbursement.
Notify the Executive Director, Financial Assistance Team Lead, Academics Manager, and Systems Director of Financial Assistance of any changes in student status.
Copy and distribute federal receipts to students. Originals placed in the student file.

17. Maintain student files and file checklist on a weekly basis and file all paperwork into appropriate student files.

Actively participate and contribute in all TPI Team activities utilizing sound TPI concepts.
Participate in graduation ceremony and other college events as needed.
Assist in maintaining the overall appearance of the college.
Attend all meetings, in-service activities, and training, on campus and off-site locations.
May be required to sit in on a minimum of one admissions interview per quarter.
Communicate to students adjustments to Financial Assistance package in a timely manner
Perform all other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Associate’s required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

2. Sense of integrity and ability to get along with others.

3. Ability to manage rapidly changing priorities and opportunities.

4. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, analytical talent and attention to detail.

5. Fluency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint.

6. Ability to creatively problem solve and posses exceptional critical thinking skills.

7. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
