Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining various CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with strict quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with CNC programming and tooling, and a keen eye for detail to uphold our commitment to manufacturing excellence.

Duties

Set up CNC machines such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC machining centers by installing tooling and fixtures according to specifications.
Program CNC equipment utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and interpret blueprints, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) drawings to produce precise parts.
Operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently while monitoring production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimize downtime.
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure components meet specifications.
Conduct quality control inspections throughout the manufacturing process, adjusting machine parameters as necessary.
Handle materials using forklifts or other materials handling equipment; assist with fabrication, assembly line tasks, or packaging as needed.
Maintain detailed documentation of machine settings, production logs, and inspection reports for traceability.
Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling improvements or modifications; support continuous process improvements.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and factory regulations at all times.

Requirements

Proven experience operating CNC machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar equipment within a manufacturing facility.
Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or other controller systems.
Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and technical drawings.
Familiarity with CAM programming software and SolidWorks for design interpretation.
Mechanical knowledge of tooling, fabrication processes, and machining techniques.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers accurately.
Experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; factory experience is highly desirable.
Basic math skills necessary for measurement calculations and machine setup adjustments.
Knowledge of quality control procedures and the use of precision measuring tools.
Hands-on experience with welding, stamping presses, press brake machines, or fabrication is a plus.
Good communication skills; ability to work effectively within an assembly line environment.
Valid certification or training in programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous.
