Full Job Description

Hog Tide Bar-B-Que - Willard Mo. is a fast casual, destination restaurant providing diners world championship competition BBQ. Just a 15 minute drive from Springfield, our small hometown Willard location services many from surrounding areas around Springfield. We are proud to have been voted with multiple awards for best BBQ in the Ozarks over the past 4 years. The restaurant is supported by our flagship location in Aurora Mo.

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and results-driven Restaurant Manager to lead our restaurant team and oversee day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who understands that great restaurants are built through excellent hospitality, consistent execution, food quality control, engaged employees, and sound financial management.

The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for creating a positive guest experience, developing and retaining a strong team, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring the restaurant meets its sales and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

Lead, coach, and develop front-of-house and back-of-house team members.
Recruit, interview, hire, train, and retain high-quality employees.
Create a positive, professional, and accountable work environment.
Conduct team meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing training.
Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance.
Build strong communication and teamwork between the front and back of house.
Manage employee scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing levels.

Restaurant Operations

Oversee all daily restaurant operations and ensure smooth service.
Maintain high standards for food quality, cleanliness, hospitality, and overall guest experience.
Ensure company policies, procedures, and operating standards are consistently followed.
Monitor opening and closing procedures.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and food-handling regulations.
Identify operational issues and implement effective solutions.
Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming restaurant environment.

Guest Experience

Provide exceptional hospitality and ensure guests have a positive experience.
Respond professionally to guest concerns and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Lead by example and maintain a strong presence on the restaurant floor.
Build relationships with regular guests and the local community.

Financial & Business Management

Manage sales, labor, food costs, and controllable expenses.
Monitor restaurant performance and take action to improve profitability.
Control inventory, waste, portioning, and product costs.
Ensure proper cash-handling and financial procedures are followed.
Work toward achieving sales, labor, cost, and profitability goals.

Food Standards

Partner with the Aurora location Kitchen Manager/Chef to maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
Ensure recipes, portion sizes, preparation standards, and product specifications are followed.
Monitor inventory levels and ordering.
Minimize food waste and product loss.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, rotation, and handling of food products.

What We're Looking For

Previous restaurant management experience, preferably as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Assistant Manager.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Proven ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain employees.
Strong understanding of restaurant operations and financial performance.
Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification as required.
Ability to perform every position and assist when needed.
Knife skills cutting meat preferred.

Compensation
