Spray Foam Technician
Pay: From $25.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Job Overview:
We are hiring a full-time Spray Foam Technician to support the production of modular buildings and shipping container conversions in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for preparing, insulating, and finishing shipping container office units using closed-cell spray polyurethane foam insulation.
This is an hourly, non-exempt production position working in a manufacturing environment. Work must be performed safely while meeting quality standards and daily production goals.
The ideal candidate has previous spray foam experience, understands proper spray techniques, takes pride in producing quality work, and can safely operate and maintain spray foam equipment. This position also assists with general construction and production tasks when spray foam work is not scheduled.
Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Friday: Overtime as needed based on production demands
Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
- Prepare shipping containers for spray foam application by cleaning, masking, and protecting surfaces.
- Apply closed-cell spray foam insulation to the interior walls and ceilings of wood-framed shipping container office units.
- Spray insulation to the underside of shipping containers to insulate floor systems.
- Operate a Graco Reactor3 E-20 spray foam proportioning machine and related spray equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily equipment setup, shutdown, cleaning, and preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot spray foam equipment and application issues to minimize downtime.
- Monitor foam quality, temperature, pressure, and application thickness to ensure proper performance.
- Remove overspray and leave completed units clean and ready for the paneling department.
- Maintain a clean and organized spray area and work environment.
- Safely handle spray foam chemicals and follow all manufacturer recommendations.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist with framing, construction, production, or other shop duties as needed.
- Support production flow and help keep projects moving on schedule.
Requirements
- Previous spray foam insulation experience is required.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a Graco Reactor3 E-20 spray foam machine is required.
- Basic understanding of residential or commercial construction practices.
- Ability to prepare surfaces for successful spray foam application.
- Ability to safely operate spray foam equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined areas of shipping containers.
- Comfortable working in hot, humid, and non-climate-controlled manufacturing environments.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Respiratory Protection & PPE Requirements
This position requires the use of respiratory protection while spraying polyurethane foam.
Employees must:
- Successfully pass a respirator medical evaluation and fit test.
- Be able to wear a tight-fitting respirator in accordance with OSHA respiratory protection requirements.
- Be clean-shaven in areas where the respirator seals to the face, as required to maintain an effective seal.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to:
- Tyvek®-style protective suit with hood
- Respirator
- Chemical-resistant gloves
- Safety glasses or goggles
- Hearing protection (when required)
- Safety footwear
- Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements regarding chemical handling and respiratory protection.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience spraying closed-cell polyurethane foam insulation.
- Experience insulating shipping containers, modular buildings, or similar structures.
- General construction, framing, or carpentry experience.
- Forklift experience.
- Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- OSHA safety training is a plus.
Pay
$25.00 per hour
Higher pay is available based on spray foam experience, equipment knowledge, troubleshooting ability, construction experience, leadership potential, and overall work performance.
