Now Hiring: Operations Manager (General Manager)
Location: St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands
58-Room Limited-Service Hotel & Villas
$55–65K + Bonus

Client: A premier St. Thomas Hotel & Villas - Well established, seeking a full-time onsite team leader.

This is a leadership role reporting directly to the President, with full responsibility for operational execution, guest experience, and financial performance.

As the Operational Manager (General Manager) for a premier St. Thomas, USVI Hotel & Villas, you will oversee the daily operations of a 58-room limited-service property. This role will ensure the highest levels of service and guest satisfaction, driving operational efficiencies across all hotel departments. You will be directly responsible for overseeing the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage services (currently closed), while ensuring smooth operations throughout the property.

Your leadership will be essential in improving operational productivity, enhancing the guest experience, and managing costs associated with maintenance and light construction, including plumbing, air conditioning, electricity, and masonry.

Key Responsibilities:

Strong hotel operations background across reservations, front desk, night audit, and housekeeping, ideally in both branded/airport and independent properties.
Solid systems experience with PMS, booking engines, OTA/extranet integrations, and basic revenue tools/RMS.
Hands‑on property and maintenance mindset, comfortable working with a small maintenance team in an older building and understanding basic plumbing/electrical/HVAC issues.
Proven sales, relationship‑building, and communication skills with guests, staff, and group/corporate clients, including handling complaints and upselling rooms.
Effective people leader with experience rebuilding small teams, improving morale, and providing consistent, trustworthy on‑site leadership.
Strong financial and scheduling acumen, including key hotel metrics (occupancy, ADR, RevPAR), cost‑conscious staffing (FT/PT, OT), and ROI‑focused decisions on room and property improvements.

Qualifications:

Required

7–10+ years progressive hospitality experience 3–5+ years leading multi-department hotel operations
Experience managing properties with 40+ rooms; demonstrated ownership of operational budgets
Proven ability to improve RevPAR, labor efficiency, and guest satisfaction scores Experience overseeing maintenance and capital improvement projects

Preferred

Bachelor's degree

Caribbean or resort experience Independent property leadership experience
Experience reopening or launching F&B operations Familiarity with PMS systems

Additional Notes:

Flexibility and Initiative: The Operational Manager will need to be flexible and proactive in stepping into any department or role as needed to maintain smooth operations.
Leadership: The manager will be expected to motivate and lead the team while maintaining a strong focus on delivering consistent and quality service to guests.

This role is essential in ensuring the continued growth and success, as well as the ongoing satisfaction of guests. Your leadership will have a direct impact on the hotel’s operational performance, profitability, and overall guest experience. This is a fully in-person position.

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
