Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Support Specialist provides technical support for customer computers and business networks, including installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware and software. The position handles a wide range of support requests within a small team environment and values employee input in day-to-day operations. The role is well suited for individuals who value consistency, professional working relationships, and making meaningful contributions to the organization and the clients it serves. **Job location is just outside St. Louis in Arnold, MO**

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair Windows desktop and laptop hardware and software
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows Server and virtualized environments
Support printers, routers, switches, firewalls, NAS devices, and other common network equipment
Administer user accounts, email accounts, directory services, and scheduled data backups
Support Microsoft 365 services, including email and account-related issues
Diagnose client-reported issues and restore system functionality using established tools and procedures
Resolve issues in accordance with service expectations and response standards
Identify and respond to systems exhibiting unexpected behavior, performance degradation, or instability by following documented procedures and escalation paths
Determine when issues require escalation and ensure accurate documentation and handoff
Accurately document service requests, system events, issues, and resolutions in the customer management system
Provide clear, plain-language technical support via phone, email, remote tools, and on-site interactions
Independently manage support requests and coordinate with team members as needed
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and operational standards
Perform work safely and in accordance with established practices
Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly and professionally
Ability to listen effectively and respond appropriately to technical requests and questions
Ability to compose clear technical documentation and written communication
Ability to analyze and resolve technical problems where standardized solutions may be limited
Ability to learn new technologies, tools, and procedures efficiently
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users in plain, understandable terms
Ability to work collaboratively in a small-team environment and contribute positively to group outcomes
Working knowledge of directory services, account management, and system configuration in a business IT environment
Experience troubleshooting system and network connectivity issues in a business environment
Experience using system imaging tools and performing data restoration
Hands-on experience building, upgrading, diagnosing, and repairing desktop and laptop hardware
Demonstrated professionalism, personal responsibility, and a strong work ethic
Consistent attendance and punctuality
Conduct that supports a cooperative, respectful team environment
Demonstrated history of reliability, consistency, and commitment in prior roles
Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including background checks and any role-related screening requirements
Reliable transportation
Current, valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to meet insurance requirements
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Ability to provide two or more professional references from previous employers

REQUIRED EDUCATION
Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical training and practical experience

WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience providing desktop, network, or infrastructure support in a business environment
Demonstrated experience configuring, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
Prior hands-on experience performing PC and laptop hardware diagnosis, repair, and replacement

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Full-time hours, Monday – Friday
Day shift with paid holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk, see, and hear. The employee is frequently required to lift, carry, and/or move up 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust and focus. The employee is occasionally required to drive and be insured to drive the company vehicle.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
