Financial Analyst I

SHR Talent is partnering with a healthcare supply chain and sourcing client in St. Louis, Missouri in its search for a Financial Analyst I. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity requiring candidates to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role offers an excellent entry point for analytical professionals looking to build a career in financial analysis, healthcare operations, strategic sourcing, and contract management. The Financial Analyst I will support sourcing, contracting, and account management teams through detailed financial modeling, pricing analysis, data cleansing, and reporting initiatives that directly impact organizational savings and operational performance.

This position is ideal for candidates with 1–2 years of analyst experience who possess strong Microsoft Excel skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The Financial Analyst I will analyze vendor proposals, evaluate pricing agreements, prepare market share and purchasing data, and provide actionable financial insights that support strategic business decisions.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be passionate about leveraging data to drive financial results. This role offers exposure to healthcare contracting, sourcing negotiations, financial analysis, and cross-functional business operations while providing opportunities for long-term career growth and potential permanent employment.

Responsibilities:

Perform accurate and timely savings analyses and financial evaluations of vendor pricing proposals and sourcing initiatives
Cleanse, organize, validate, and analyze purchasing and market share data from internal and external sources
Support sourcing, contracting, and account management teams throughout vendor negotiations and implementation projects
Prepare detailed pricing models, financial reports, and analytical summaries using Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools
Evaluate purchasing agreement amendments, maintain data accuracy, and provide ongoing financial support through ad hoc analysis and reporting requests

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or related credentials are a plus but not required
1–2 years of financial analyst, business analyst, data analyst, healthcare analyst, or related analytical experience required
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with Power Pivot, Power BI, SQL, and Alteryx preferred
Strong data analysis, data cleansing, problem-solving, communication, organization, and attention-to-detail skills required
