Job Summary

As a Patient Account Representative, you will serve as a trusted resource for patients by providing outstanding customer service and assisting them with questions about their healthcare accounts. You'll help patients understand their medical bills, explore payment options, and work toward resolving outstanding balances with empathy and professionalism.

Every conversation matters. The hospitals and healthcare organizations we serve depend on positive patient experiences, and you'll play an important role in strengthening those relationships while helping people navigate what can often be a confusing process.

Responsibilities

Review and evaluate assigned patient accounts to determine the appropriate course of action.
Manage daily workflow efficiently to maximize account resolution while providing exceptional patient service.
Communicate with patients, guarantors, insurance companies, and other third parties to establish payment arrangements and monitor payment plans.
Process patient payments accurately using client systems.
Research and verify insurance eligibility and perform skip tracing when necessary.
Obtain supporting documentation from clients for insurance filings, disputes, or potential legal action, including invoices, statements, contracts, promissory notes, payment history, and related correspondence.
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with company policies and client requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

College coursework in healthcare billing, medical coding, insurance, or a related field.
Previous customer service, collections, or healthcare experience.

Skills

Successful candidates will have:

Strong customer service and communication skills.
Professional telephone etiquette.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
The ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
A positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others.

Supplemental Pay

Bonus opportunities
