Production Manager – Roofing & Exterior Operations
Residential & Commercial Roofing | Full-Time | St. Louis Metro Area.
We're not looking for someone to simply schedule jobs, we're looking for someone to lead our production team.
An established (20+ years) and growing exterior renovation company in the St. Louis metro area is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and continuously improve our production department.
This is a leadership position for someone who enjoys solving problems, building systems, leading people, and creating exceptional customer experiences. You'll be responsible for keeping projects moving efficiently while coordinating customers, subcontractors, suppliers, office staff, sales, and field operations.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in running an organized operation where customers are informed, crews are prepared, and every project is set up for success before the first shingle is installed.
If you're energized by bringing order to chaos, improving processes, and taking ownership of production from start to finish, we'd like to speak with you.
About the Opportunity
We're investing heavily in operational excellence, technology, and process improvement. Our goal is to build one of the most organized and customer focused exterior contracting companies in the region.
We're looking for someone who doesn't just react to problems, they anticipate them, build systems that prevent them, and help create an environment where employees, subcontractors, and customers all succeed.
This isn't a desk job hidden behind a computer, nor is it strictly a field position. You'll spend time in the office coordinating operations, in the field supporting crews, communicating with customers, and continually improving the systems that keep our company operating at a high level.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Production Leadership
- Own and maintain the master production schedule.
- Coordinate roofing, siding, gutter, and exterior projects from scheduling through completion.
- Balance labor, materials, permits, inspections, dumpsters, equipment, and weather-related scheduling changes.
- Keep projects moving efficiently while minimizing downtime and delays.
- Work closely with our Operations Manager to ensure seamless field execution.
Customer Communication
Communication is one of the most important parts of this role.
You'll serve as the central point of coordination between:
- Customers
- Sales Team
- Installation Crews
- Field Operations
- Suppliers
- Office Staff
- Leadership
We believe exceptional customer communication is one of the biggest reasons clients choose to work with us. You'll play a major role in delivering that experience before, during, and after every project.
CRM & Operational Systems
We're a systems-driven company, and AccuLynx is at the center of our operation.
Every customer interaction, production update, schedule adjustment, material order, photo, and project note must be documented accurately and in real time. We believe information belongs to the entire team, not in someone's memory or notebook.
Our Production Manager is responsible for maintaining clear visibility across every active project, ensuring the production calendar is accurate, schedules are coordinated, and everyone has the information they need to execute at a high level.
If you're highly organized, embrace technology, and believe documentation is just as important as communication, you'll thrive in this role.
Process Improvement
We're not looking for someone who simply maintains the status quo.
We're looking for someone who naturally asks:
"How can we make this better?"
You'll help identify bottlenecks, improve workflows, increase efficiency, reduce callbacks, and strengthen operational consistency across the company.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this position isn't measured by opinions, it's measured by results.
You'll be evaluated on your ability to consistently deliver:
- Accurate production scheduling and calendar management
- Excellent communication with customers, crews, and the office
- Timely and complete AccuLynx documentation
- Efficient coordination of labor, materials, and project logistics
- Low callback and warranty rates
- Strong customer satisfaction
- High-quality project execution
- Continuous operational improvements
- Team accountability and follow-through
- A production department that runs proactively instead of reactively
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least three years of experience leading production or construction operations.
- Extensive knowledge of residential roofing and exterior construction.
- Experience with siding, gutters, windows, or related exterior trades is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and jobsite logistics.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication.
- Strong computer skills and experience using AccuLynx.
- Ability to adapt quickly when schedules, weather, or project conditions change.
- A positive, solutions-oriented attitude with a high level of personal accountability.
The Person We're Looking For
You don't wait to be told what needs attention.
You naturally notice problems before others do.
You communicate clearly and professionally.

You understand that exceptional customer experiences are created through preparation, organization, communication, and consistent execution.
Most importantly, you take ownership.
