Full Job Description

Overview
Southern CT Women’s Health Care Associates is seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Receptionist for our Westport office. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and creating a welcoming, comfortable experience for every patient while serving as the first point of contact for our practice.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
Schedule appointments accurately using EPIC.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and manage billing processes including medical collection activities.
Maintain and update patient records in various EHR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation review standards.
Assist with medical intake procedures, including collecting patient information, updating medical history, and explaining clinic policies.
Support clinic operations by handling appointment reminders, confirming care plans, and coordinating follow-up visits efficiently.

Requirements

Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like EPIC.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
Exceptional phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently while providing outstanding patient service.
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Previous clinic or OBGYN office experience is preferred; familiarity with OBGYN terminology is a plus.
Ability to perform clerical tasks such as filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records with accuracy.
