Full Job Description

About JerkyGent

JerkyGent is an established ecommerce company and subscription box built around discovering and selling some of the best craft beef jerky and snacks in the country.

We operate JerkyGent.com along with several growing snack brands of our own. We are a small team, which means everyone here has an opportunity to make a real impact. Ideas can go from concept to live campaign very quickly, and this role will have a major hand in how our brands look, communicate, and grow.

We are looking for a creative, driven Marketing & Ecommerce Specialist who has strong taste, understands ecommerce, and knows how to use modern tools, especially AI, to create great marketing quickly.

This is not a role where you will spend weeks working on a single campaign. We move fast. You might build an email campaign in the morning, merchandise new products in Shopify in the afternoon, develop an ad concept, help plan next month's promotion, or start building out a new brand.

What You'll Do

Email Marketing

Email will be one of the biggest parts of this position.

You will:

Develop, design, and launch approximately 2 to 3 email campaigns per week
Come up with campaign concepts, promotions, subject lines, messaging, graphics, and layouts
Use AI and creative tools to help develop campaign concepts, imagery, copy, and designs
Keep our email list engaged without relying solely on discounts
Manage our promotional calendar and coordinate campaigns around new products, holidays, subscription boxes, and special offers
Maintain and improve automated email flows
Monitor opens, clicks, conversions, revenue, unsubscribes, and other email performance
Test creative, offers, subject lines, layouts, and messaging to continually improve results

Experience with Klaviyo is a major plus.

Creative & Brand Marketing

You will help shape how JerkyGent and our brands look across multiple channels.

Responsibilities include:

Create graphics for email, website promotions, advertisements, social media, product launches, and other marketing needs
Use AI image generation and other modern creative tools to develop polished marketing assets
Maintain a consistent look and feel across our brands
Help develop promotional concepts and campaign ideas
Create printed inserts and promotional materials for our monthly subscription boxes
Assist with packaging concepts and new product launches
Help develop new brands from early concepts through launch
Work with outside designers, photographers, printers, and other creative partners when needed

You do not need to be a professional graphic designer, but you do need to have a strong eye for design. You should be able to look at an email, advertisement, product page, or graphic and know whether it looks polished and on brand.

Ecommerce & Merchandising

You will help manage and improve the JerkyGent online store.

Responsibilities include:

Find new jerky, snacks, and products that fit the JerkyGent shop
Research potential vendors and reach out to brands
Add new products to Shopify
Write product titles, descriptions, and merchandising copy
Maintain product images, pricing, inventory settings, collections, and listings
Create and merchandise product collections
Keep the website fresh with seasonal products, promotions, and featured items
Identify opportunities to improve navigation, merchandising, product pages, and conversion rates
Monitor competitors and ecommerce trends for new ideas

SEO & Content

You will help grow our organic traffic through useful content and better site organization.

Responsibilities include:

Research and write SEO focused blog content
Create SEO optimized Shopify collections and landing pages
Improve product descriptions, collection descriptions, titles, and metadata
Identify new keywords and content opportunities
Use AI responsibly to speed up research and writing while making sure everything we publish still sounds natural and useful
Help keep older website content accurate and updated

Digital Advertising

You will assist with managing and improving our paid advertising.

Responsibilities include:

Create new advertising concepts, copy, graphics, and offers
Launch and manage campaigns across platforms such as Meta and Google
Monitor advertising performance
Develop and test new creative regularly
Look for opportunities to reduce customer acquisition cost and improve return on ad spend
Analyze which campaigns, audiences, products, and creative are performing best
Work with leadership to determine budgets and promotional strategy

Direct advertising experience is helpful, but we are also open to someone who is analytical, creative, and eager to become very good at it.

Customer Experience

Because we are a small company, everyone stays close to the customer.

You will:

Assist with customer emails, chats, and occasional phone calls
Help resolve order, subscription, and product issues
Identify recurring customer questions or problems that we can improve
Use customer feedback to help improve our marketing, website, and products

What We're Looking For

The right person is creative but also gets things done and executes quickly.

You should be:

Creative with a genuinely good eye for design
Extremely comfortable using AI as part of your everyday workflow
A strong writer who can create marketing copy that sounds natural
Comfortable learning new software and technology
Organized and capable of managing several projects at once
Detail oriented
Curious about ecommerce, branding, advertising, and consumer products
Comfortable looking at marketing data and making decisions from it
Able to work independently without needing constant direction
Willing to test ideas, learn from results, and continually improve
Someone who notices opportunities and brings ideas to the table instead of waiting to be told exactly what to do

We care much more about your ability, creativity, judgment, and willingness to learn than having a specific degree.
