Overview:
This position is responsible for directing the Maintenance Department to ensure the effective, efficient and safe maintenance of property facilities, ensuring a safe and secure property for the guest and team members as well as protecting Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe’s assets. The position is responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and other related areas. Responsible for planning, budgeting, and scheduling facility modifications including estimating for all departments’ needs, annual budgets, monthly forecasting, scheduling, hiring and discipline, inventory and asset control along with establishing departments policies and guest service objectives. The incumbent is responsible for managing all aspects of the departments’ activities in accordance with corporate policy and Nevada State Regulations. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, motivate, evaluate, and direct team members to ensure they receive adequate guidance and resources to perform their job according to objectives.

Develop and maintain departments’ objectives, policies, procedures, and budgets to ensure effective and efficient management of departments.

Collect data and information through inspections, testing and investigations in order to file reports with the appropriate regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations.

Inspect property utilities and equipment and take action to correct problems in order to minimize potential for violations during on-site safety inspections by OSHA.

Provide expertise, direction and labor and equipment resources in event of hazardous waste spill to ensure that clean-up procedures and results are in compliance with regulations.

Maintain the maintenance of the Pool area.

Oversee the establishment of an effective preventive maintenance program.

Monitoring non-controllable expenses through proper implementation of energy conservation projects.
- Developing and implementing an extensive recycling program to ensure all items are disposed of properly in a cost-effective manner.

Participate in long-term planning of facilities expansion and modifications to ensure that departments’ requirements are satisfied within the overall plan.

Monitor master key procedure and par inventory level to ensure security and restriction of access.

Ensure a safe and secure atmosphere/environment for guests and team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, noise, crowds, smoke, and vibration. Incumbents are at times subjected to hazards such as the dangers associated with the use of basic hand and power tools and testing equipment.

This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.

Observe and direct actions of subordinates.

Inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.

Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.

Examine all areas of the facility, including attics and basements, which require climbing, balancing, crawling and reaching so as to be able to accurately inspect all areas.

Be around extreme heat when working in the boiler room.

Use small hand tools such as screwdrivers and pliers so as to make all necessary repairs.

Use all equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to basic hand and power tools and testing equipment.

Effectively and efficiently move around work areas.

Working knowledge of various government statutes including but not limited to: the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Hazardous Communications and Hazardous Disposal statutes, ADA, underground storage tanks, OSHA, MSDS, County Building Codes, Gaming Control regulations, law enforcement, fire permitting and code enforcement.

Demonstrate proficiency in the development, analysis, and management of a budget in a comparable sized operation.

Effective communication and motivational skills.

Knowledge of general maintenance and janitorial methods.

Knowledge of electrical distribution, HVAC and plumbing.

Understanding of energy management systems including operation, programming and correlation to engineering expenditures helpful.
- Minimum age requirement is 21.
