The Maintenance Supervisor will lead from the floor, balancing hands-on technical problem-solving with team leadership to maximize uptime, protect crop and product, enforce safety standards, and support compliant operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Team Leadership & Safe Work
- Team Leadership & Work Allocation: Lead, schedule, assign, train, and mentor 5 to 7 maintenance technicians. Balance daily facility routines, preventive maintenance, repairs, and projects based on operational priorities and team capabilities.

- Safety & Work Authorization: Enforce LOTO, PPE, electrical safe-work, hot-work, and contractor-safety requirements. - Facility Projects & Contractor Coordination: Plan and support equipment installations, utility routing, plumbing and piping repairs, and facility improvements. Coordinate vendors and contractors, including site access, safety, documentation, and secure-area requirements.

Prioritize work based on personnel safety, crop health, product protection, regulatory risk, and downtime; verify repairs, setpoints, alarms, and interlocks before returning equipment or rooms to service, with operations or quality release when required.
- Emergency & Life-Safety Readiness: Support inspection and readiness of fire alarms and sprinklers, emergency lighting and egress, eyewash and safety showers, leak detection, generators, utility shutoffs, and emergency-response procedures; coordinate qualified service for specialized systems when applicable.
- Sanitation, Biosecurity & Product Protection: Follow room-entry, tool-cleaning, sanitation, and material-control procedures; control dust, debris, moisture, condensation, pests, and cross-contamination; and ensure maintenance activity does not compromise secure areas, plant tags, inventory traceability, stored product, or required surveillance coverage.
3. Reporting & Documentation
- Management Reporting & Coordination: Provide regular updates to the General Manager on maintenance schedules, project timelines, critical failures, downtime, and parts or contractor needs; coordinate priorities with affected departments.
- Daily Room Status Reporting: Post beginning- and end-of-day maintenance status updates to the internal messaging board for each production and non-production room. Identify environmental exceptions, active maintenance tasks, production impact, assigned owner, current status, and estimated return-to-service time; record "no active maintenance issue" when applicable.
- Documentation & Audit Support: Keep work orders, preventive-maintenance records, equipment histories, calibration and verification records, SDS records, contractor documentation, permits, training records, and maintenance SOPs inspection-ready; support OMMA, fire marshal, insurance, GACP, GMP, and internal quality audits as applicable.
