Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laser Programmer specializing in AMADA equipment to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and executing laser cutting programs to ensure precision and efficiency in metal fabrication. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining high-quality standards, streamlining production processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art laser technology in a dynamic manufacturing environment committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

Develop and modify laser cutting programs for AMADA laser systems using CAD/CAM software, ensuring accurate translation of engineering drawings into machine instructions.
Set up and operate AMADA laser machines, including configuring tooling, adjusting parameters, and performing test cuts to validate program accuracy.
Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to produce precise components.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize cutting processes, reduce waste, and improve cycle times through lean manufacturing principles.
Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of laser equipment to maintain optimal performance and safety standards.
Utilize measurement tools such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and precision measurement instruments for quality control inspections.
Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setup procedures, and quality checks to ensure traceability and compliance with industry standards.

Skills

Proficiency in programming CNC laser systems with AMADA machinery; experience with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and CAM software for creating and editing machining programs.
Expertise in interpreting mechanical blueprints, schematics, and geometric tolerances using GD&T principles.
Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining processes including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, 5-axis CNC machines, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and CNC programming techniques.
Familiarity with tooling setup, fixture design, and metal machining best practices to optimize cutting quality.
Experience with measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), micrometers, and other precision instruments for quality assurance.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies to enhance workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams related to laser systems and machinery maintenance.
Strong math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and program parameters necessary for precise machining operations.
