Job Overview

Join our compassionate team as an In Home Caregiver, where your dedication and skills will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and health management. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care in clients' homes, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help foster independence and enhance quality of life for those you serve. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with diverse populations, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques
Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status or behavior, documenting findings accurately while respecting HIPAA privacy standards
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
Administer medications following care plans and ensure proper documentation of medication administration
Support clients with cognitive impairments by implementing dementia or Alzheimer's care strategies, including memory care techniques and patient monitoring
Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and household chores to promote hygiene and comfort
Follow all safety protocols during manual handling, heavy lifting, and use of assistive devices to prevent injury
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, or family members to develop or update personalized care plans that meet each client’s unique needs

Qualifications

Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to observe patients carefully and respond appropriately to changes in condition or behavior
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience maintaining confidentiality of patient information
Proficiency in providing comprehensive patient care including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and assisting with ADLs
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's or dementia care are a plus
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper manual handling techniques and assistive devices like Hoyer lifts
