We take pride in the quality of our products and the dedication of our team. We are seeking an experienced Aluminum MIG Welder/Fabricator to join our production team.

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Aluminum MIG Welder with 5+ years of hands-on experience to join our team. This role requires the ability to work independently and produce high-quality welds across both thin- and thick-gauge marine-grade aluminum with minimal supervision. You'll play a key role in maintaining weld quality on the floor, mentoring welders/fabricators and helping build a stronger, more skilled team.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG welding on 5000- and 6000-series marine-grade aluminum across a range of thicknesses, from thin-gauge sheet to thick-gauge plate and structural components
Set and adjust wire feed speed, voltage, amperage, and shielding gas flow (100% argon) to match material thickness and joint type, including multi-pass welds on thick-gauge sections
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and AWS weld symbols to determine joint prep, fit-up, and weld specifications
Perform pre-weld prep including grinding, cleaning, and removing oxidation from aluminum surfaces to prevent porosity and contamination
Conduct visual and dimensional quality inspections, identifying and correcting defects such as porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, or warping
Build, assemble, and tack products using jigs, fixtures, tools, and heavy equipment, managing heat input to control distortion across varying material thicknesses
Troubleshoot weld defects and adjust technique or parameters accordingly
Follow all safety protocols and use welding equipment, PPE, and ventilation systems properly
Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications

5+ years of professional Aluminum MIG (GMAW) welding experience, ideally in marine, aerospace, or similar precision fabrication industries
Proven ability to weld both thin-gauge sheet and thick-gauge plate/structural aluminum, including multi-pass and root/fill/cap technique on heavier sections
Strong working knowledge of aluminum alloys (5xxx/6xxx series), filler metal selection (4043/5356), and shielding gas requirements
Ability to independently read blueprints, technical drawings, and AWS weld symbols
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely (press brake, shear, saws, drill press, etc.)
AWS certification a plus, but not required
Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious with a strong work ethic
Ability to work 10-hour shifts and keep up with production pace
Physically able to lift heavy objects and stand/work for extended periods
Good communication and teamwork skills, including mentoring junior fabricators

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
