Full Job Description

Ignite Dance Competition - Marketing Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for executing marketing and brand initiatives across multiple channels, including social media, email marketing, digital marketing, and website content, under the direction of the Director of Marketing. This role plays a key part in strengthening Ignite's brand presence, driving engagement, and supporting company growth.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of marketing, communications, and advertising, as well as, experience in graphic design, content creation, email marketing, website management, and sales support. Candidates should be highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

A passion for dance and prior experience in the dance industry are strongly preferred, as this role requires an understanding of the competitive dance industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media

Amplify brand awareness by building content for and posting to Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok based on social media strategy set by the Director of Marketing
Manage our online community by replying to all comments, direct messages, and posts Ignite is tagged in
Resharing content from Ignite events
Regular research of the latest social media trends and features

Email Marketing

Building and sending email newsletters based on email marketing strategy and company initiatives
Increase email subscribers and produce leads by creating landing pages with creative, attention-grabbing free PDF downloads

Website Management

Regularly update and maintain the website, making sure the most up-to-date information is available
Update the SEO & Alt Tags to optimize the site’s search rankings

Graphic Design

Create and design all print and digital marketing materials in accordance with brand guidelines for social media, advertisements, and printed event materials

Client & Vendor Relations

Research and collaborate with vendors that align with the company values
Work with the Director of Marketing to help manage the Ignite ambassador team
Participate in all marketing and sales efforts to solicit new clients and fill events
Solicit and cultivate new leads

Event Work

Travel to events as a crew member
Prepping print materials for all events, including programs, information packets, and signage
Communicate with on-site vendors for each event, sending event schedules

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.
1+ years of experience in marketing, brand management, or a related role.
Experience in events, performing arts, youth sports, or entertainment industries strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Prior experience running and creating content for a business’s social media accounts and has a strong understanding of the latest trends on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
Candidates should have prior graphic design experience and be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and Canva.
Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with clients, comfortable with regular cold calls.
Previous experience creating newsletters for brands, the skill to capture attention with concise, informational emails.
Strong writing skills from newsletters, social media captions, to full-length copy.
A firm understanding of capturing a brand’s identity and implementing that in every marketing effort from social media, to email marketing, print design, and beyond.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment. Candidates should be self-starters, managing their time effectively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand and remain on your feet for 8–12 hours during event days
Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the competitive season

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is primarily remote, with the expectation that the employee is based within driving distance of Orangeburg, SC, to support occasional in-person meetings, planning sessions, and operational needs. The position also requires travel for approximately 30% of the time for events and related business activities.
