Job Overview

Crosswind Counseling Center serves a wide range of community members, including those who have experienced significant trauma, have relationship difficulties, have substance use difficulty, and who have current or historical criminal justice system involvement. We provide therapy designed for people who want clarity, practical tools, and meaningful change. Our clinicians specialize in trauma‑informed care, gender‑affirming therapy, and support for anxiety, depression, and life transitions.

Crosswind Counseling Center is looking to connect with talented, mission-driven clinicians who want to do meaningful work in a setting built around clinical excellence, autonomy, and genuine support. If you're a licensed mental health or substance use professional looking for a practice that values trauma-informed, person-centered care — we want to hear from you.

As a 1099 contractor, you control your caseload, your schedule, and how you build your practice — while still having access to a clinical community, consultation, and administrative infrastructure that takes the friction out of private practice. Build a caseload and schedule that fits your life. We support clinicians who want to see clients part-time as well as those building a full caseload. Independent practice often means going it alone. At Crosswind, you'll have access to case consultation, a supportive peer network, and a clinical leadership team invested in your growth.

Whether you're building expertise in offense-specific treatment, co-occurring disorders, or trauma-informed modalities, we support clinicians who want to deepen their practice in a specific direction. If you're drawn to trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, justice-involved populations, or gender-affirming practice, you'll be working alongside (and learning from) clinicians who specialize in exactly that.

We believe good clinical work happens when clinicians are trusted, supported, and given room to practice with integrity. That shows up in how we structure our team:

Trauma-informed, strengths-based philosophy woven through every program we run, not just a phrase on our website
Specialty clinical programming, including original curricula developed in-house for justice-involved and co-occurring populations
A small, collaborative clinical team where you're known by name, not a caseload number
Clinical leadership that's still in the room: our Clinical & Treatment Director is an active practicing clinician, not a distant administrator

Responsibilities

Conduct diagnostic assessments to assess clients' mental health needs.
Create treatment plans.
Provide individual, couples, and/or mental health counseling tailored to the unique needs of each client, depending on your areas of specialization and training.
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Offer direct support and guidance to clients facing behavioral health challenges.
Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques in psychotherapy sessions.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Valid state licensure as a therapist. Pre-licensed mental health practitioners may apply if they are able to obtain their own independent supervision for licensure.
Proven experience in diagnostic evaluation and mental health counseling.
Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA.
Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and effective psychotherapy methods.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to empathize with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in clinical practice.

Additional Compensation Information

Master's level licensure: 65% commission on billables
Doctoral level licensure: 70% commission on billables

Pay: $50.00 - $150.00 per hour
