Full Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with the processing of multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
Review and audit employee timecards for accuracy and completeness.
Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, wage changes, direct deposits, deductions, and tax updates.
Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and payroll reporting.
Respond to employee and manager payroll questions in a professional and timely manner.
Maintain payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
Partner with HR on employee onboarding, benefits deductions, and payroll-related changes.
Work with payroll vendors and internal departments to resolve payroll discrepancies.
Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Participate in payroll process improvements and special projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

2+ years of payroll experience preferred.
Multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred.
UKG Ready experience is highly desired but not required.
Working knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll best practices.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, sorting, filtering, and spreadsheets) strongly preferred.
Experience with HRIS or payroll systems.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
High School Diploma or GED required.

RWC Building Products is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team at our Phoenix corporate office. This position is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll while providing excellent customer service to employees and managers.

The ideal candidate has payroll experience, enjoys solving problems, works well with confidential information, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) is highly desired but not required. This role also offers the opportunity for professional growth as our payroll operations continue to expand.
