Full Job Description

Gainesville, Georgia | Full-Time | In-Office

An established and respected North Georgia law firm is seeking a full-time Real Estate Paralegal to join our team in Gainesville, Georgia. For nearly 100 years, Smith, Gilliam, Williams & Miles, P.A. has provided high-quality legal services to businesses, individuals, financial institutions, developers, and property owners throughout Northeast Georgia.

This position is primarily focused on real estate transactional work and offers the opportunity to work directly with experienced attorneys and firm partners on a wide variety of residential and commercial real estate matters. The successful candidate will also provide support for business transactions and general civil litigation matters as needed.

We are seeking a motivated professional who values accuracy, organization, client service, and teamwork, and who is looking for a long-term career opportunity with an established and growing law firm.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Prepare deeds, easements, affidavits, closing documents, settlement statements, and related transactional documents.

· Coordinate residential and commercial real estate closings.

· Prepare title insurance commitments and related title documentation.

· Review surveys, title examinations and lien searches.

· Communicate and coordinate with clients, lenders, title insurance underwriters, real estate agents, surveyors, and other parties involved in transactions.

· Organize and maintain transaction files and closing binders.

· Assist attorneys with commercial and business transactions, including entity formation and related documentation.

· Provide support for civil litigation matters, including document preparation, filing, discovery coordination, and case management as needed.

· Manage deadlines and maintain accurate records across multiple matters.

· Provide administrative support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Experience and Education

· At least five years of experience as a real estate paralegal in a law firm environment

· Experience with closing commercial and/or residential real estate transactions

· Experience conducting and reviewing title examinations and preparing title insurance commitments

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

· Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

· Professional demeanor and strong client-service skills

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with attorneys and staff

TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE

Experience with the following software is preferred:

· Microsoft Office Suite

· NetDocuments

· Centerbase or similar law firm management and billing software

· Adobe Acrobat

· Qualia or similar real estate closing software

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

· Anticipated salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 annually, depending upon qualifications and experience

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, in-office position located in Gainesville, Georgia.

Regular office hours are:

· Monday through Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

· Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
